Pizza Twist — Restaurant in Puyallup

I really wanted to like this place. It seems like a neat concept.

They had a combo deal online of two topping medium pizza, 10 wings, and 2 liter soda. Sounded like a good option for dinner for husband and me. When I went to go pick it up, the guy asked if I wanted a can or bottle of coke, I stated that it was actually a 2liter. He literally made a face, scoffed, and said no in a tone of voice that implied I was crazy, an idiot, or trying to scam him. We looked down at the receipt he had handed me to try and clarify this situation and all it said was "1 COKE" so the guy says, "see, no". I just left. I wasn't about to argue with this jerk over a few dollars worth of soda.

After opening the food, I was even more upset. We like spicy food and were excited to see "super spicy buffalo" as a wing sauce option. They had ranch drizzled all over them and a handful of cilantro now smooshed into the sauce. Nothing in the food description mentions ranch or cilantro or I would have asked for it taken off.

After calling the store. There was no manager or shift lead to talk to, just the man who had scoffed at me. He made excuses about being new or something, but that means either the store left a brand new employee completely alone, or he's lying. He offered to "fix it" if we came back. The store is 40min round trip from my house and I just wanted to eat my food.

Fix your descriptions on your ordering site so people are not surprised by what they ordered. Learn your own promotions so your employees aren't making fools of themselves. And work on your attitude, there was no reason to treat...

Delicious crust and sauces! Such a cool and unique pizza experience. They also have regular pizza flavors. I had the vegan tandoori chick’n and vegan BBQ chick’n. I like that it came with vegan Hidden Valley ranch (although in house ranch like Sizzle Pie would be better, don’t care for hidden valley but at least there is a vegan ranch option).

The only disappointing parts are the single person working that day was very slow and was on the phone most of the time. I had to ask for fresh cilantro and the tandoori didn’t have fresh ginger or chilies like advertised.

Also the location I went to in Puyallup didn’t have the vegan all “meat” which I was really looking forward too. I think it would be nice if the vegan chicken sub was marinated or tossed in the pizza sauce. I’m not a fan of the vegan cheese but there’s not too much on it. But a cheese like Papa Murphy’s has would be better.

One thing I noticed was the person working undercooked the vegan garlic bread sticks and the center was doughy. I reheated them till properly cooked and broiled the vegan cheese until crispy and then they were really excellent. Cheese on the leftover pizza was also better reheated and broiled.

I would probably eat there again next time I’m in town because it’s so unique. But the $4 extra for vegan is unnecessary as Papa Murphy’s doesn’t charge extra and neither do other pizza places with vegan...

UPDATE We were very disappointed by our latest visit here. First, we were told they didn’t have any of the specialty pizzas in the left column because they didn’t have any of the cheeses for them. Then we asked if we could get a garlic chicken pizza with pesto sauce and were told they didn’t have any pesto sauce, so we ordered a large deep dish three idiots pizza. When we got it, it was in a medium box, so I questioned why we didn’t get a large like we ordered. I was told that you have to order a large pizza and pay $2 extra in order to get a medium sized pizza. The guy working there obviously didn’t know what he was doing or talking about. I asked him to remove the extra $2 charge or charge me for the price of a medium deep dish pizza with the extra $2 charge, but he refused. I was so disappointed because the owner is so friendly and we were looking forward to eating here again. I won’t be going back now though.
