The absolute best gym to open in Puyallup in a long time! Facility has tons of equipment- a lot of machines that I’ve never seen in any other gym in the area. I look for variety, and they’ve got it here! The customer service and the welcome that I receive EVERY time I go in is awesome- they actually know the names of their members. I’ve never had that at any gym. I’m guessing that great owners, who have unsurpassed reputations in the area, attract great members - because in addition to a stellar staff, I actually enjoy being around the members of this gym. I can’t explain it, but the atmosphere at Northwest Fitness Co is welcoming and you’re instantly comfortable. No one is judging you and, as my wife put it,”This is the only gym I’ve ever gone to that I actually look forward to going back to every day.” My wife has been uncomfortable and has felt out-of-place at the other gyms we’ve belonged to, so for her to say that is seriously amazing. She and I can finally go together! Her anxiety was gone after the first 5 minutes of being there & talking to the owners. They are great guys!
The owners are passionate & their level of commitment to not only their business, but their members, is nothing I’ve ever seen. I have never seen gym owners that actually work AT their own gym, from the front desk to training to showing people around - they’re in there, all day, every day. They take the time to talk to you and get to know you. You feel like you’re part of the family is how I would describe it. The classes are awesome- my wife and daughter have tried them all - and guess what? You don’t pay extra for the classes. It’s part of the membership! These guys aren’t trying to suck every last dollar out of me and the cost per month for membership is so freaking low, it’s pretty much a no-brainer to join!
I’ve had memberships at pretty much every gym out there - big corporations, small corporations, crossfit boxes, and a bunch of the little circuit training places - none compare. None. The big corporate gyms (you know the ones...the YMCA, L.A. Fitness, 24 Hour Fitness, Planet Fitness, etc.) are lacking in so many areas, from a lack of customer service, to gouging you with all of the hidden fees, then charging through the nose for classes ON TOP of the membership costs, and don’t get me started on how they lock you into insane contracts that you can’t get out of with a crowbar. I won’t even go into how absolutely filthy the big gyms are either. I’m not sure how often the YMCA or L.A., specifically, get cleaned, but I’ve watched the same garbage and same nasty grime sitting in the same areas for months. For as much money as I was paying (it’s obscene what they charge), you’d think those places would be a little (or A LOT) cleaner than they are. They can certainly afford to pay for cleaning.
Bottom line: Northwest Fitness Company is exactly the type of gym that has been missing in Puyallup and you’d be nuts not to give them a try. You won’t regret joining and you will love all of the amenities, equipment, classes, training, and supportive staff & the feeling of camaraderie that this place provides- and without a bunch of hidden fees, without contracts, without all of the stuff that many of us can’t stand about the other gyms we’ve painfully had to endure because there wasn’t anything like NWFITCO out there yet! They’re here now! Get in there and you’ll see exactly what I mean! Thank you for opening...
Read moreAbout Trainer Christopher Haddock: I highly recommend having Christopher Haddock as your personal trainer. I have been training with him since 06/27/2021 and now I just cannot think about training without Chris. He has helped me lose 50 lbs in 9 months. He has his own personal approach on the workouts that he plans out for you and your nutrition as well. He emphasizes on so many tiny details of your body posture and designs the workout based on your body type, endurance and the types of workout you enjoy. I have learned so much from him, I have grown so much because of him and my confidence level has boosted up by infinity. He has made me fall in love with body building, I am no longer working out for weight loss, I am now looking forward to gain muscle mass, toning up my body and look good with confidence, all of this cannot be possible without Chris. I still have a long way to go, and I cannot think of any other trainers other than Chris to help me achieve my next goal. Sarah M (Team Haddock).

If you care about yourself or your family members, do NOT join or recommend this gym. Just go to Planet Fitness; they won't try to sell you stuff constantly, and they don't have that fake salesperson smile. Their staff are just normal people.
Anyway, I went in with a friend because when he got his membership, they told him he should refer friends and family; so, he brought me for a "30-day free trial." The front desk girl quickly looked us over and told us to sit down. A big woman with curly hair named Natalia came and brought out forms. I assumed it was general safety waivers, and we could start working out soon. But she talked on and on.
Even my friend looked 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘧𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘥. She gave us the runaround and finally placed two options in front of me. Either $299 or $20/month. After that was done, she finally stopped talking with us. My friend and I lost our motivation to work out, and I left with a bitter taste in my mouth. We went to our boxing gym instead. When I went to cancel after waiting the 1-month mandatory period (another payment in their pocket). The guy who "helped" me asked 𝘮𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘪𝘱𝘭𝘦 times for my genuine feelings and feedback; I think his name is Parker, but his handwriting was hard to understand. I felt he was going to listen to my concerns. I tried to explain to him how I only came in for a 30-day free trial and felt that I got 𝘳𝘶𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘥 into joining their gym.
All he did was laugh at me and said, "𝙉𝙤𝙗𝙤𝙙𝙮 𝙥𝙪𝙩 𝙖 𝙜𝙪𝙣 𝙩𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙙."
Never go here. They say they want to help with your fitness goals, but their main goal is to 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦...
