I knew I would like this place as soon as I saw it. Small town diner, friendly people, the yummy smell of food and the owner/manager siting at the counter laughing and talking to the staff like they are family. A few things I noticed that increased my view of this place, that it had a diverse crowd, they served breakfast all day and in the corner there was a child having their birthday with all the family there and one of the staff was blowing up balloons and placing special decorations at a table to make it festive. The food was really good. I had the bone in ham served with eggs, toast and choice of potato . My partner had the vegetarian omelet with toast and choice of potato. The strange was that the toast was delayed by 15 min (must bread shortage), but was served with homemade like marrianberry jam. Over all it was nice. The service was slightly slow and the food took a little longer to be served because it was busy. My rating is like 4.5.

Ordered the chicken Cesar. It wasn't bad. Asked for added avocado and sliced onions. Wasn't charged for the extra. That was kind. For a $15 salad, it seemed small. Lettuce used appeared to be shredded like you find on a taco. It was served on an appetizer sized plate like a side salad and not an entre. Would have preferred chopped chicken to evenly mix and distribute. Service was good and friendly. Value for salad was less than desirable. Restaurant cleanliness over all was ok. Tables were clean, but floor had some signs of significant mess. I give this place an overall 2.5 stars out of 5. Maybe other food items have better value, don't know. My humble opinion.

Seems a few others with low ratings had a similar experience. I came in here with my dad. We waited at least 5 minutes to be seated, we were not greeted. A girl gestured to us to sit at a table she just cleared, still didn't actually say anything to us. We were confused if the girl worked there because after giving us our menus she sat down to eat at the bar. The staff was more concerned with clearing tables and never checked on us. We hungrily waited a good 15-20 minutes for someone to take our order. The couple seated at the table right next to us got their orders taken after waiting only 5 minutes so we left and got a cheaper meal at a different establishment. The restaurant has their loyal, old customers which is good for them. We won't ever be one of them and that's fine with me. There are plenty of other options to eat downtown and as we discovered, noticeabley cheaper too. Owners, I hope you see this review and tell your waiters to actually care about non-regulars. The waiter even made eye contact with my dad before approaching the other table. Restaurants should show hospitality to all their patrons, regulars or not. How do you expect to gain more regulars after your current ones die...

Felt unwelcome and discriminated against. We went on a Monday and it wasn’t very busy so it seemed weird that the waitress was noticibly irritated at our presence. She took our order very matter of fact, and never came to check on us. Meanwhile the same waitress is laughing/ joking and smiling with everyone else in the cafe. I get that there are regulars and we aren’t but to not even greet us but greet every single other guest with a warm friendly smile seems rude and singles us out. The food was ok, but the atmosphere felt uncomfortable. At the end when we went to pay, we asked for a box to take the leftovers home. The waitress rolled her eyes and before handing us a box actually checked our table and plates like she didn’t believe that we really needed a box. It was just odd. I will never go back, which is sad because I like supporting local businesses and if this cafe treats younger folk poorly, they may lose more business...
