This bakery has some special and unique desserts that are worth checking out. Our group of 4 was seated right away and the staff was very attentive in answering questions, bringing out drinks, and taking our order. Itâs a fairly small dining area, but the overall aesthetic was very charming and bright. There are a lot of options here so take your time to dig into something. I loved seeing the influences from China, Japan, the Philippines, and France. They come together in a beautiful and special way that makes these desserts something I highly recommend. I canât wait to come back with friends and family so I can try even more of the menu.
Brown Sugar Cream Puffs - These were hands down the best thing we ate here. There is a 10 minute prep time on them but itâs 100% worth it. A must order item! The toasted exterior and the flavor of the brown sugar with the decadent cream is something thatâs indulgent and memorable. You need these in your life. I will be waking up in the middle of the night craving these and dreaming of the next time I can have them. 5/5
Snow White Mango Juice Sago & Pomelo w. Mango Ice Cream - Wonderfully balanced from the sweet flavors of mango and coconut, the sharpness of pomelo grapefruit, and the texture variation from the sago and ice cream. I believe that Snow White juice is coconut and condensed milk. Itâs a refreshing thing that may be something Iâd crave more in summer, but nonetheless was delicious. 4/5
Mango Juice with Watermelon & Rice Ball - I loved the flavors of the mango and watermelon balls. The flavors soaked into the small mochi balls and added some sweetness. This was a little more simple but well executed and I enjoyed it thoroughly. 4/5
Ube Mille Crepe Cake - A lovely presentation of the cake with the purple topping that is in the cake and on the plate. You can feel each layer distinctly while eating and the ube flavor isnât too sweet and mixes perfectly with the flavor of vanilla. I happen to love ube, but I think this is something most people would enjoy even if they are an ube maniac like me. 4/5
Oreo Mille Crepe Cake - The flavor and complexity of this cake took me by surprise. This was a true cookies and cream experience. The flavor of the filling was perfectly distributed between all of those lovely layers. Even though I tend to like ube more than Oreo, this took me by surprise and ended up just slightly edging it out. Both were phenomenal and I canât recommend them enough. 5/5
Magnum Chocolate Cake - A round cake consisting of layers of chocolate sponge, chocolate buttercream, and topped with a tempered chocolate shell. This is meant to resemble the flavors of a magnum ice cream bar and it did it incredibly well. Chocolate lovers will not be disappointed, but it is incredibly sweet so some may find it...
Read moreMy friend and I went during grand opening and it was pretty busy, the staff was nice but they were overwhelmed with orders and while sitting there no one came by to our table to take our orders.. after maybe 5 to 7 minutes someone took our order. We ordered four desserts and a drink and we waited around 30 minutes then turned 45 min for our order.. every other person that were seated after us received their order and we were still waiting. We asked the waitress how long will it take for our order to come out, she asks us if she was the one who took our order and never came back with an answer.. Asked the manager what our wait time is as we waited 45 minutes and nothing came out. He came back and said it will be another 20 minutes, in the end we told him to cancel our order, got up and left. We felt like they lost our order or gave our order to another table and a lot of miscommunication going on. There were tables receiving orders that were for another table. It made the staff look highly incompetent and I get it was grand opening but felt like it couldâve been organized way before they are opened to the public like each waitress waiting their own sections or in the kitchen prep everything ahead of time of opening in larger quantities. I didnât even get to try anything and I already donât anticipate to come back to try it. For more context, we were seated at 9pm and they handed us cups of water and utensils after we gave our order. We left with an empty stomach at 9:50pm after being told it will an extra 20 minutes, there was still a line outside while people were waiting to get seated or to order take out and they...
Read moreThis could be a biased opinion because reviews are based personal experience. I had lived in the NY Metropolitan Area for more than a decade, so I have experienced a lot of dessert places over the years. I still do visit Queens and Manhattan frequently, so the taste of their dessert do not stand out to me.
I was there during the soft opening days; extremely understaffed in the kitchen but too many service in the front. Personally it was 1 hour standing wait time + 45 mins sitting wait time, under 10 min eating time. Understandable but can't comprehend why it feels like 1 person in the kitchen, 4 people at the front. It's not like they were constantly refilling water and tea(I didn't get offered free tea - i don't think there is any), so no idea what the deal is.
Cleanliness = 1.0 (I didn't use the bathroom during my visit) Ambience = .75 (too little space between the table) Food = .5 (avg, not bad but nothing special) Service = .5 Just okay, barely any service, oh, don't seat customers before the table is cleaned. it's kinda disgusting when you wipe down the table with people seated. Value = .25. Kinda expensive for the taste, but there is the GC people can buy at discount.
Overall 3.0; perhaps opinion may change when I revisit again. It's possible food can be better if it was...
