A Five-Star Shout-Out to the Radcliff Applebee’s Dream Team!
If I could give more than five stars, this team would get every single one of them.
Let me start by saying—I am not an Applebee’s guy. I’ve been to locations across different states, and truth be told, I was never impressed. That was until I stepped foot into the Applebee’s in Radcliff, Kentucky. From that very first visit back in February 2025, this location completely flipped the script and turned a skeptical, non-loyal customer into someone who now looks forward to every visit like it’s a reunion with family.
Heather, the bartender, was the first person I encountered—and let me tell you, her unwitting cantor, top-notch professionalism, and naturally warm welcome set the tone right away. I told her I wasn’t big on Applebee’s but needed something satisfying and spicy. She nailed it. And on my return visits, I left the menu in her hands again—different suggestions every time, and not once have I been disappointed. She knows how to listen, connect, and truly guide a guest’s experience.
Lewis, with his upbeat banter and laser-sharp professionalism, is another standout. His ability to make customers feel like they’re the most important person in the room—while cracking jokes and keeping things moving smoothly—is a rare gift. He connects on a human level, and that’s something you can’t train.
Brandi brings her own flavor with that no-BS attitude, quick wit, and beautiful charm. She’s the kind of server who can deliver what you need before you even ask—with a smile and just the right amount of sass to make your day better. Her presence alone could turn a bad day around.
Orion, the greeter, is a master at his craft. His attention to detail, ability to read a customer within seconds, and genuine welcoming demeanor make every visit feel personal. No matter how long it’s been, he remembers faces, names, and preferences—something I’ve never experienced at any other Applebee’s.
And the engine behind it all—Renee, the manager. A true leader. Renee runs a tight, cohesive ship with grace, strength, and approachability. I’ve seen her defuse unruly customers with professionalism and empathy. She supports her team visibly, and her leadership is reflected in the smooth operation and camaraderie this crew clearly shares.
Let me be clear—this isn’t just a restaurant, it’s an experience. The team here transformed Applebee’s into a place I enjoy, trust, and genuinely look forward to returning to every few weeks during my military rotations to Fort Knox.
While I still wouldn’t step foot into an Applebee’s back home in New Jersey, I’ll gladly detour to this Radcliff location every single time I’m in the area. The team here has redefined what Applebee’s means to me—with respect, competence, humor, and heart.
This location deserves a spotlight, a plaque, and frankly, a raise. If you’re in the area—don’t miss out on this crew. They’re running one of the best Applebee’s in the country, hands down.
Thank you all for making each visit memorable—can’t wait to see y’all...
Read moreI was there with my wife and young son on July 23, 2015. Our experience was horrible!
First off we were seated at a booth by a window, fine everything was good. The sun was coming through the window which was bothering our young son; his eyes are very sensitive to sunlight. So we asked to put the blind down with a reply of "Oh, sorry we cannot put the blinds down because there is no string for them to do it." Ok, understand, so we asked to move one booth back to get our son out of the sunlight; which we did. Great.
Next, we order. wonderful. So my wife and I are sitting there talking. Our salads come in about 20 minutes; some what late but fine. We ate our salads , no problem. 45 minutes after we order our food our food finally gets there; our order was not complicated. When the food arrives: my meal is barely warm (which means it had been sitting a while), my wife's potatoes were substituted with French fries; as the waitress put it "it was a quick easy fix because we ran out of potatoes" my wife was never told about this until the food hit our table and my son's chicken was bathed in a cheese sauce (I mean, bathed not covering). The cheese sauce was supposed to be on the chicken but I didn't know the chicken would need a life jacket in the cheese.
Next we hear from the couple behind us, because they complained and asked for the manager because the same things were happening to them that: 1. the manager was not there because he/she was out getting utensils for the restaurant, the afternoon crew never prepped the kitchen so the current crew was never set-up for service in the evening and this would not happen again. The gentlemen replied "Yes it did, the last time we were in here almost the same things happened and my wife and I thought we would give this place one more shot." The host had exactly zero to say and just stood there.
Later that night my wife and I took turns in the bathroom for almost the whole night because our stomachs were in such knots. Luckily our son was sleeping and only the fries he ate did not bother him. My wife thought it was either the salads we had or our chicken.
Overall, very lack luster (putting it kindly) service, terrible food, no courtesy for customers, bad product and lack of communication. I do not recommend going here at all. I will never bring my business here...
Read moreI deleted my old review (that was surprisingly a 5 star) to write this new one because things have made a 180 in the last few months and I thought they were just one-off "bad nights".
My issues aren't when I go and eat in-person, my issues are when I order thru a delivery service. I had one issue in-person in recent months and it was fixed.
But the last two times I've ordered thru a delivery service, my meals have been really bad. Like they're just not cared about. Quality isn't there at all, it's never warm, always soggy. But I eat it because I have no way to take it back (no car sometimes so that's why I order delivery) and obviously I'm hungry. So I eat what I can of it and toss the rest which is a waste of money.
I typically get the sirloin with shrimp n parmesean topper; in-person, it's always covered in the topper and a great cut of meat. But each time with delivery it's not even a quarter of the amount of topper it should be and a really fatty or grisle-y cut of meat (this time and last I couldn't even eat half of it). The only "plus" is the center pink is right. And no matter which app you order thru, you can't make any requests. My ONLY request honestly would be to separate the fries from the steak somehow; this time I couldn't eat any of my fries cause they were soaked thru in steak juice. The steamed/seasoned broccoli wasn't entirely steamed and rubbery. The ranch is definitely not homemade tasting like it was a few months ago; if it is the recipe needs adjusted to be a dipping sauce and not a sandwich condiment. It was tangy and zippy and amazing my last in-person visit and last delivery order. This time it tasted mostly of mayonnaise and a little of the spices in it and was greasy feeling.
I tried filing for a refund thru UberEats halfway thru trying to cut up my steak when I realized how fatty and grisle-y it was, and was denied because it wasn't eligible and it wouldn't tell me why. I am not one to usually "Karen" for a refund on anything, but this time what I could eat wasn't worth it at all and I didn't get near full.
I usually visit Applebee's every month, sometimes twice a month. And while I know me saying "I won't be back to this location" won't do anything to their sales, I won't be. This was it for me. Third strike and I'm done. Another $20 ish...
