This was previously a five-star review—but after today’s experience, I’m giving only one star. And that’s solely because there isn’t an option for zero.
I stopped at this Sonic around 4:26 PM today with my five-year-old son, who has food sensitivities and aversions. He is very limited in what he can safely eat, but Sonic’s crispy chicken sandwich is one of the few foods he tolerates well. I placed the order at the stall and verified it carefully—everything on the screen looked correct.
The food came out in a timely manner, and I placed the bag on the seat as we left for an appointment. A few minutes into the drive, my son asked for his sandwich. As I always do with him, I inspected it before handing it over—and thank God I did.
What we received was not even close to what was ordered. The sandwich consisted of:
A mound of pickles (a full handful, easily),
The bottom bun, followed by the chicken,
An overwhelming amount of mayonnaise (enough for multiple sandwiches),
And instead of the requested onions, it was piled with 10–15 slices of jalapeño peppers.
This is not just an incorrect order—it’s dangerous for someone with sensitivities. Spicy food like jalapeños can cause major distress, especially to a child. The screen showed onions, not jalapeños. The receipt showed jalapeños were added, which is not what I ordered.
I called the restaurant before leaving this review. I asked to speak with the manager—though I’m not sure if the person who responded actually was one. When I explained the issue, I was met with a scoff and the question: "So you’re calling me about a messy sandwich?" I explained the severity of the issue, especially for a child with food restrictions. Her response? "Whoever was cooking is new." When I expressed disbelief, she followed up with: "Well, they’re kids."
Being “new” or “a kid” doesn’t excuse endangering someone’s health—especially not when the order was correct on the screen and someone actively altered it. If Sonic can’t ensure customers receive what they ordered—especially when it involves health and safety—then perhaps Sonic shouldn’t be serving food at...
Read moreThis is some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced if I could give them no stars at all would. I work in customer service so I know that sometimes leads reviews are bull but this was just outrageous. My friend and I ordered ahead on the app because we didn't want to wait time and when we got there it was pretty packed so I expected wait a few minutes. But after having arrived and been waiting for 15 minutes I press the button and spoke to an employee and let her know that I had ordered ahead and I wasn't sure where my order was because it had already been cleared off the screen and I was told it was on the way. After this we were told it would be just another few minutes before my friend chili cheese tots. My drink finally came out and then we were just waiting on my friends about 10 minutes go by and I asked an employee to check on my friends order. She never came back and so we asked another employee about my friends order and he never came back so finally 40 minutes into waiting for two drinks and some chili cheese tots my friend got out of the car and went to talk to them to which they gave her a refund but didn't even try to give her her food or her drinks. I've Works customer service before and I know sometimes in order gets cleared off or something happens and you have to remake it but we spoke to three employees trying to get her order only for them to decide to just give us a refund and not even try to give her her food. Anywhere with any common decency would have given her a refund and her drinks and her food and not just giving her a refund after we had been waiting for over 40 minutes. I have frequent in this Sonic before and I will not...
Read moreI moved from stall to stall, because I couldn't get anyone to respond to my pushing the red button. The last stall I parked in gave me a message that acknowledged that I had pushed the button and someone would be with me soon. I waited for 5 minutes without any response when I walked up to the service door. One of the carhops was walking out and I asked if they were open. She said yes and I expressed that I had been waiting for over 5 minutes and no one had even acknowledged that I was sitting there. As soon as I got back in the car, someone finally asked for my order. I asked why someone didn't just come on line and acknowledge that they are short staffed, but would get to me as quickly as possible. Whoever was on the other line told me that they only have one headset which prevents them from being able to take 20 seconds to acknowledge those who are waiting to place an order........ This is the third time I've waited for someone to even acknowledge that I was waiting to place an order. The first two times I drove off after 20 minutes. I think I would have done the same thing today , except I got out of the car to find out what the problem was. If the person taking the order had apologized for the wait and been polite, I would have eaten there. However, since she chose to blame the headset and had a bad attitude, I felt no confidence in the quality of the food being served here. I love Sonic burgers, but I will never eat at this location again. I see many very similar posts about this location. It seems like the franchise owner doesn't care. Sonic, if you care about your reputation, you might want to shut...
