Re-visit: While some items were okay, I was generally disappointed, and will not be back anytime soon, unless I try happy hour which has several half price items, including half-price craft beer.
My friend and I arrived on Wednesday at 11:15 a.m., and were promptly seated, which was not a surprise since we were literally the only people in the restaurant. At least this was better than my previous experience... See my prior review.
We started off with a couple of beers. I am happy when any place has decent beer, as I am a beer geek. We each had a Sweetwater Brewing Company Hop Hash IPA. Unfortunately, this was the best part of the meal.
Our server asked us if we wanted any bread and we said that we did. What we were served with two slices of bread. Literally, one slice per person. We couldn't help but laugh at this.
We started off with an order of a spicy calamari and sausage. While the dish had a nice flavor, and was not greasy as some other reviewers have noted, half of the calamari was extremely rubbery and was like chewing on a rubber band. The decent red sauce just could not cover up having to chew calamari for five minutes. Further, at $13 this appetizer was very expensive for what you got. At happy hour, this appetizer is only $6 and much more reasonable. I have to say though, that I am not sure if the happy hour appetizer is the same size.
Second we ordered a short rib pizza. While a little salty, the pizza was quite good. It was definitely the best food part of our meal, at $18 was at least reasonable.
Finally, we had an order of veal limone. We asked for veal instead of chicken with the sauce and they were able to accommodate us. This was probably the saltiest item I have ever received at a restaurant. EVER. The salt overpowered any lemon or caper flavor. The veal itself was ok. It was relatively thin and cooked properly. However, it was so salty I could barely eat it. Further, at $24 it was expensive for the portion that was received. For half the price I had a larger portion with pasta that was much more flavorful at the diner 2 miles down the road. While I did not think that the diner veal was anything exceptional, it was much better than this small portion of salt with veal. When our waiter asked how everything was, I did mention that the veal was extremely salty and he stated he would let the kitchen know. I don't have much faith in this, as many other reviews on this site note extremely salty items.
As opposed to my prior visit, the service was actually pretty good. Our server, Israel, was attentive.
Even with a generous gift card received from management after my previous experience I cannot say that I was that pleased with this meal. From the paltry serving of the bread to the rubber band calamari and the dish of salt they called veal, the food was very disappointing. Yes, the pizza was good but it did not make up for the overpriced and poorly executed sausage and calamari and veal dishes. There's no way that this meal was worth the $70 that it cost.
Also, once people started to fill the restaurant it became extremely loud.
The only way I will be back is if I try happy hour or if somebody else wants to waste their money on me. Even if I do return, I will likely stick to the pizza. Nonetheless, I'd much rather go to the coal fire pizza place down the street.
Had a 7pm reservation for 4. Arrived on time. Sat immediately. Left after 30 minutes having received 2 glasses of water for a table of 4, and NOTHING ELSE. Asked repeatedly for a server, and no one ever came. I did call and speak to the manager the next, day and he was apologetic. I may be willing to give the place another try because he was so nice. If I do, I will review again.
Update: I received a generous gift card from the manager after our conversation. I will likely give them another try and re-review. Added 1 star...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDined here for dinner with my family. My family loved it here before Thursday night, and I was planning my best friends bridal shower here. Iām glad we went once more before we continued planningā¦.. We ordered two chicken Parms and a simple plate of pasta with marinara for our six year old. Within an hour of leaving we all were violently throwing up our meals for the next 12 hours. The next morning our stomachs were settled after throwing up all night. My daughter had to miss school and my husband and I had to call out of work. I called the restaurant to politely request a refund where Brian told me that I could have gotten sick from allergies. Iām sorry but allergies donāt cause you to throw up bile. After explaining that no one in my family has food allergies, he told me that thereās nothing he can do for me and referred me to another manager. He did not give me her number. He instead gave me her email. When I emailed Caila, I left my phone number and she sent me a reply email reiterating the same exact thing that Brian said. It wasnāt okay. They didnāt even seem concerned or apologetic. Just felt more so defensive. I had no intention on writing a review and had every intention on returning, I just wanted a refund for the inconvenience and for my entire family getting food poisoning. Even a $25 gift card or something wouldāve softened the inconvenience just a little. It was just really unprofessional to be completely honest. To have regular patrons get food poisoning and to tell them feel better it wasnāt us, is completely absurd.
That aside, the atmosphere is still wonderful, and the food is good for the price.
Unfortunately, this past customer service experience will not have us coming back and we will be relocating our bridal shower to a different location. If we were to have an issue with the shower, and not be helped, then that would be unacceptable beyond...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOverall, charming Italian eatery. Delicious menu options. A great choice for family dinner or date night. However, it is not a 5ā restaurant because, to me it seems owners and servers both were more focused on dollar signs than customer satisfaction. Two examples:
A) By it's own name, it is a pizzeria. Yet, there is no pizza on the children's menu. ( Pizza is a staple on virtually every children's menu everywhere, right next to the chicken fingers.) But at Pietro's, for my 3 year old to have pizza for dinner at this PIZZA establishment, I had to order her a 10" pie - that is a larger size pie, and more food than an individual adult pizza in a typical restaurant. And, with the oversized Pizza I had to pay an oversized price!
B) In a full bar, which Pietro's has, alcohol is not limited to only premium top shelf and rail. However, our waitress seemed to think that because I was willing to pay for a specialty drink that used premium top shelf tequila, I was willing to pay for margaritas using premium top shelf tequila, even when I specifically asked for Cuervo Silver. For a waitress to say she is "unfamiliar with the tequila options" of her establishment should not result my purchasing a top-shelf premium drink because "she only knows Patron;" it should results in her being retrained and kept off the floor until she is knowedgable of both every alcohol and every menu item available to her customers. As it appears to me, our waitress was too lazy to walk to the bar and confirm whether or not I could be served Cuervo Silver, as per my request, and thought that her laziness and insistence that I be served Patron would result in her receiving...
