Watch out ladies and gentlemen!!! In my opinion I think this place thinks its funny to place obviously bitten pickles on your plate. Or maybe they are reusing the pickles that other customers haven’t finished. I’m guessing pickles are expensive and they refuse to waste them. And don’t you dare even think about complaining to the manager about having someone else’s bitten food on your plate. They get incredibly upset if you don’t immediately pop that germ-infested bitten pickle in your mouth and enjoy it. I tried complaining to my waitress Gina about the pickle and she tried to sell me on the idea that the pickle “just fell apart like that”. Then she started almost yelling at me “wellll- what you want me to do- make you another one without that pickle- or you want me to remove the pickle”. Things got worse when I asked to speak to the manager – Apparently, Gina is the manager. I asked to speak to the owner and another waitress told me that Gina was the owner (or “her family owns the place”) and there was no way to go above her. I couldn’t believe it. She was so nice when she first came to my table but then got extremely rude (in front of my wife and 4-year-old) as soon as I pointed out something was wrong with my food. In the middle of our conversation Gina abruptly walks away screaming “I am the manager”. She then never comes back to my table – not even to get the check (keep in mind we are sitting at one of the tables outside in the parking lot). She doesn’t even send another waitress to come help us leaving me to go inside and ask for help. At one point it seemed as if she was teasing us with the fact that she wasn’t going to help us because at one point she decides to stand about 30 feet away and scream “are you good” but before me or my wife were able to answer she once again walked away abruptly. I think she might of mistaken us with one of her other tables and when she got close enough to see that bitten pickle still on my table staring her right in the face she realized it was us and walked away as fast as she could. Its was an incredibly rude experience in front of my family and honestly I wonder what else they may be reusing from the stuff other customers don’t fully eat. Sad – Check out my pictures of the pickle and tell me if you think “it fell...
Read moreI live in Colonia now, but I've been coming here since my apartment days in Rahway, back in 1999. I'm a regular, and I came here yesterday some 21 years later with my 3 kids, since we all had the crave. They're always nice, pleasant and bend over backwards for their customers here. So, during the pandemic, busy as all heck, during a rainstorm, just the two younger adults working, and the same quick, easy, no hassle, pleasant, bend over backwards service.... literally running back and forth from car to counter to car, with food, drinks, you name it. It was awe inspiring to see such pride and commitment in what they do and their place in this pandemic. Wow. Good food comes and goes, great service will normally stand the test of time, but a family of pride, commitment and honor within their community is the reason this place has been through 3 generations and over 50 years. Kudos to you guys, sincerely. I'm a 30 year store and pharmacy manager who has always stood impressed by the service this establishment has always provided, but yesterday really proved you are a staple in that community and will be for years to come. PS: Mom loved the chili dog! Thanks guys, for all you do during this...
Read moreWent to Stewarts on a recommendation from a friend and was disappointed in the service. On a slow Wednesday afternoon they had about 6 female servers and had 3 clients sitting at their bar/table. Once I walked in it took about 1 minute to get greeted (mind you this is a small establishment). This was because they were too busy chatting with each other? Anyway, I placed my order and waited in my car... After about 10 minutes I went back in to get my order. Again, I waited, assuming my food wasn't ready... Finally, I asked if my food was ready and it was just sitting on the shelf. I signed my credit card receipt and heard a "wow rude" comment. Maybe it was because I didn't leave a tip on a take out order? Anyway, the cheesesteak was ok, except a bit soggy (maybe because it was sitting on the shelf) and the chilidog was decent. I would say the food would've tasted better had it not been sitting and I didn't have a bad taste in my mouth from the service. Not worth going back, I've had better service at gas stations.
EDIT: Wow, upon reading other 1-2 star reviews it looks like rude service is...
