El Tapatio Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Rainbow City

I usually Wouldn’t write a review just cause I’m annoyed over prices, but the way the manager spoke to me has gotten under my skin a bit. After exclaiming to him i have never paid 21.00 for a small top shelf margarita! He responded jerk like! I attempted to tell him i travel Regularly and i know the prices of liquors & the difference in brands. A top Shelf is not the cheap tequila ! Why would it be called top (the best of the best) if it’s the lowest of low Jose or Montezuma ? A top shelf drink runs $12.99- $13.99 here in the South, 15.99-18.00 in South Florida, Miami area. Usually 2 for 1’s.. 15.00-18.00 in California. West coast

So i said, “ that’s fine you don’t want to fix the problem that’s fine i will Pay it, but don’t put any kind of tip on my card. You can cheat these American people over every little thing, but not me. I’m Mexican and Caucasian mixed, I understand the best of both worlds. So therefore I see You are not a trustworthy person and that’s not how you succeed in life. He basically tripped low dogged me. I will Never return there. By the time i got To my car, i get a notification he charged my card $25.04 for one DRINK !! He free hand added the tip. Be careful at Mexican or Japanese restaurants. They charge your card without your knowledge when you have gave cash tip. I have Seen it many times. Where they get greedy! Want cash tip plus percentage of full total of check.

I love El Tap. We normally do not have issues here and one of our favorite Mexican restaurants! However, our server was not very attentive on this visit. It took a while for him to acknowledge us. He finally came and took our drink order and then he disappeared. He finally come back and forgot our drinks. We went ahead and gave him our food order and drink order again. Our food finally came and it was awesome as usual. We needed refills and he never came back. We saw him off at a distance talking but never came back to our table. I finally flagged down another server gal and asked if she could get him to come get refills and she so sweetly apologized to us and told us he might have gone on his break. That is fine but he should have left someone in charge of our table if he was going on a break. I'm pretty laid back and patient for the most part so this will not keep me from going back as this was one of the first negative experiences I've had there. And when we went to pay and the manager asked how everything was, I told him. He was so nice and apologized and would be sure to speak to his employee. I normally am NOT the type of person to write out a review for anything. Especially not a bad review. We drive from gadsden to rbc frequently to eat at this el tap and have never had much of an issue besides there never being enough queso on our food. Most of the time we eat in the parking lot but tonight we decided to take our food home. We get home and I found someone’s hair in my food literally the second bite im ab to take. I called and when the guy answered the phone he was immediately annoyed when i told him what was going on. He never apologized or offered any kind of refund instead he told me to bring the whole order back and he would remake it. Understandably though i told him i do not want it remade and want a refund. If i wasnt so pregnant and sick on top of that i definitely would have made the ride to get my money back.
