Bruster's Real Ice Cream — Restaurant in Raleigh

Recently started buying ice cream here as it is across the street from my home. I will no longer be purchasing from here due to something I witnessed on Tuesday 9/24. While getting ice cream and eating I witnessed a group of people approach the counter to order. They had two puppies with them in which the cashiers showed a lot of interest. I was shocked to see they placed both puppies on the counter where ice cream and food is placed on /served. My mouth then dropped to the floor when the workers slide the puppy across the counter into the ice cream shop. The puppy remained behind the counter for several minutes interacting with multiple employees. The puppies was returned back across the counter sliding pass sugar comes and other utensils. I was disgusted. I saw only one lady move and walk to the back (maybe to wash her hands?) the other workers continued to serve ice creams to approaching guests. Having a dog behind an ice cream counter and placing animals that have been on the ground on an area where food is served is ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. Please retrain these workers. Yea yea I get it…we all love puppies, but who wants contaminated ice cream especially when it’s not even from your own pet. UNACCEPTABLE. DO BETTER. I will not be returning here again unfortunately. So. Delicious. The first time we went to Bruster's we were sad to discover not all of the flavors listed online were available. BUT! It's for the best! I promise! Flavors are chosen and made each day. I don't know what all goes into their ice cream, but magic must be one of the ingredients!

I had the blueberry cobbler the last time I went, and wow! It was creamy with tons of flavor! I'm entirely certain they baked a cobbler my grandma would have been proud of, and mixed in some ice cream... It was that good! I'm partial to the fruity flavors, but there hasn't been a single flavor I've tried that hasn't blown me away.

The employees, also, are such a joy. Always helpful and smiling, and they genuinely seem to enjoy their work which makes the experience so much better. Truly...

I have friends who have worked here for years and it is a great environment for employees and customers alike. The quality of the ice cream is always impeccable, and it’s always at a very affordable price. The staff is very friendly, and the environment is very family friendly (pets included!). Always reliable for a good time with family and friends. The ice cream is best eaten with a sample spoon to savor the flavor, but that’s just what I’ve figured out after 7 years of regular visits. Their birthday ice cream cakes are awesome, they are so wonderfully and delicately decorated. Over all, the experience at Bruster’s Real Ice Cream is...
