The very worst experience. The store is incompetently run. I arrived at time it indicated food would be ready. I did not get my two hamburgers and fries until ~27 minutes later. While waiting people who ordered in store received the food before mine was ready. At one point I asked where my order was. And the guy at the fries station said it was being made at that time. He went back to finish other customers orders. Meanwhile at some point the guy finished the hamburgers and put the bag with two hamburgers on the shelf above the fries station and did not tell the guy at that station they were there. Ten minutes later (not knowing the above), I asked where my order was. He found it at that point above the station. He takes it down and puts some fries in a container and a little more in the bag. Then places it on the counter. Looks like he's waiting for more fries to be finished.. After a few minutes, he leaves and is gone for 3-4 minutes. Possibly to the bathroom. He comes back and the fries are still not ready. About two minutes later, the guy who originally made the hamburgers looked in the bag and then picked up the fries scoop and got all the scraps of fries (which had been laying there for who knows how long) and puts them into my bag. He then seals up the bag with the red circle sticker and hands it to me. If that was all that was going to be done, I should have received my order 7-10 minutes prior. I would have saved time and had warmer food. When asked about this, the people there looked confused as to what they did. There are no standards or practices to ensure the orders are timely done and correctly done at this location. I will never go back to this one and highly unlikely to ever go back to another Five Guys. Pleas share with the corporate office. They can respond back to me if they want more clarification. If not, I'll consider them just as incompetent and the example they set at...
Read moreThe greasy hamburger joint gone corporate! Everything is great about Five Guys but the price. In recent years they’ve gone to charging $10-11 and up for a single patty cheeseburger. Now the burgers are good…nah, great for a fast food chain. But as burger prices at places like Shake Shack and Five Guys approach $15, it makes me respect a place like Cookout and In-n-Out that still keep their prices sub-$10 for largely the same concept. What I can say about Five Guys is the “fresh, never frozen” claim in 100% true and it does make a difference in the burger quality. I can also respect fries which are hand cut and cooked fresh too. My personal preference are thin fries (ala McDonald’s) or waffle fries (ala Chick-Fil-A or Hardees/Carl’s Jr) but Five Guys are crunchy, a good consistency and you can tell these fries are made from actual, real potatoes. Not too salty, but not too little either.
This location at Creedmoor Rd., the order taking was fast and friendly and the burger preparation time actually rivals Wendy’s wherein from order to being ready took about 10 min. If for some reason you cannot wait a mere 10 min for a quality burger you can always order ahead for pickup. I would recommend for anyone who’s sweet spot for a burger meal is “better than McDonald’s/Burger King” but not quite the “sit down restaurant” type. But prices are apt to approach there soon. By the time it costs $18-20 for a burger, plus $7 for fries it’s time to hop over to an Outback or something for the...
Read moreDO NOT EAT HERE!
Normally I love Five Guys. I have been to many different locations but this one is actually dangerous to the body. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and it came out pink and tasted off (I was hungry so I just ate it). I also ordered a milkshake and the lady who made the milkshake wasn't wearing gloves and had band-aids on her hand which is disgusting because she literally stuck her fingers in my milkshake with the band-aid hand. Fast forward today and I now have food poisoning due to the food that I ate at this Five Guys. I may send in a report to corporate to see if they can get somebody in here because the food safety practices are non-existent in this establishment. I don't want band-aid juice in my milkshake. I used to work in a retail kitchen and the rules I had to follow to even touch anything related to food were rigorous. I couldn't even touch a different food item without washing my hands and getting new gloves. I had to get a food handlers permit too and demonstrate to the place I worked that I could handle food safely in a commercial environment! I guess not all places feel the need to follow health codes!
If you want a great burger, go to Backyard Burger! They actually wear gloves and make a delicious burger that isn't pink and milkshakes without band-aid juice. Now I am all for a little pink in a burger but not from a fast food place. DO...
