First and foremost, If I could give a negative 0 star, I would. I’m not the type of person to leave negative reviews anywhere, but after what happened to me today, I will make sure to let everyone know of this place.
Let’s begin by saying that the restaurant owners are rude, mediocre and extremely unprofessional when it comes to customer service and addressing any customers concerns. I have been a loyal customer since 2018, and have never had issues with this place until the new owners took place.
3 months ago, after ordering my food, as I was eating I noticed a black long piece of hair inside my rice. I decided to contact the owner directly and bring this to her attention instead of leaving a review, and to avoid them from having any issues with anyone else. She was rude on the phone and instead of apologizing, she got defensive and told me to bring the plate back. I never requested a refund nor my food to be replaced. I was simply letting her know of the issue, as it is unsanitary to not wear hair nets if working in the food industry. I decided to continue to eat there, giving them the benefit of the doubt because I know things happen.
Today, I decided to come in and upon ordering my food, I took the time to let them know about the issue I had with my previous order. Before paying, I noticed they were overcharging me for something extra. I took the time to explain to the waitress what my order was, for her to make the corrections. Both the owner and her daughter came at me aggressively without knowing full details of the situation, they told me to leave the restaurant because all I did was complaint, and in fact took my order and threw it away in my face! I could not believe it as I was in shocked because there were other people there to witness their reaction and unprofessionalism. NEVER AGAIN WILL I STEP IN THAT PLACE! Read morePrior to this incident I was a frequent customer at Kumbala. I enjoyed the atmosphere, food and the fact it wasn’t too far from my house. Back in September/August not only was I shocked, but highly disgusted and disappointed. I simply ordered what I always do ( 2x fried snapper and rice ) for my wife and I. One order was deliberately missing. The order that DID come was inedible as the fish leaked brown spinal fluid or something of the sort after the (spine bone) snapped, leaking all over the fish. It was not an ingredient I promise you. I’ve never seen anything like it. I called with concern about not only my missing order, but the issue with the one order that did come as well. Now how did I KNOW they purposely left out an order? In August of this year I placed an order on Grubhub for pick up, when I got there they said there is NO more fish left and to just “cancel” the order. However, the order said it “has been picked up” already. I showed the manager and she said “just cancel it”, pretty much trying to keep my money for the order and have my Grubhub account get penalized for “canceling” an active order. My wife came in and questioned the Lady in charge, she ultimately canceled the order on HER END after agreeing to show us the computer screen as “proof”. Which is how we saw she did NOT cancel order, so she then canceled on the spot after it was pointed out on screen by my wife. The manager acts confused and tried to play it off with humor.

Read moreThe food was as authentic as it gets🙌🏽 amazingly delicious 10/10 ,atmosphere was chill but I noticed several security guards an police officers.I don't live in the area so I just assumed maybe it could get a little hectic from time to time or maybe the area in general is a little rough i honestly dont know 🤷🏽♀️.Im mixed my mother is Dominican I know very little spanish but don't fluently speak that language🥴 as I grew up with my fathers side of the family an I was brought up speaking English.I said that to say I know it's a spanish/ Caribbean sports bar/ grill but not many understood any English it made it a little difficult to order an that was honestly the only down fall even though I had no problem using the translator and/ or showing pictures for our waitress to understand what we wanted I feel as though they should've had someone who was bilingual.Not to mention on top of trying to translate its a sports bar an grill / Club so the music was very very loud Also upon walking in we were asked if we were there to eat or for the club because for the club side they had to wear wrist bands.
