Honest opinion.. In town on Tour looked up a breakfast place close to downtown this place had great pics and was only 7 min from downtown. (AWESOME)
Came in to super packed facility but was greeted by a friendly face and we were seated in about 15 min.
(Here’s where it turned) Got a young waitress () who came right over took our drink orders (wasn’t sure which drink products were served we were told they had coke and Pepsi products but then settled on coke. I order coffee partner ordered a coke “no ice” drinks came to table coke full of ice and coffee with no cream. (This is not an issue they’re busy) ask for creamer 1st time didn’t even bother the no ice part it happens.
Came and took food order it went smooth but again I ask for cream when she completed order (2nd time) when she passed by the table a few times and I had not yet received my creamer I stopped her to ask again. She grabbed a bowl off the table behind me where two guest had just got up from and placed it on my table. My coffee is luke warm now. (Just drank it as it was)
My partner tasted the coke to find out that it was flat and carbonated, the waitress never returned to the table between us ordering and my stopping here for creamer.
When the food came I ask if she could please change out the coke for a sprite “no ice” because it was flat and a few extra cups of syrup because we both had pancakes (they are pleasantly thick) so you want extra with them for sure. However, she did return with a sprite a few min later but once again it has a full cup of ice but no syrup. Didn’t even bother asking again at this point didn’t want the food to get cold. My partner did ask for a water for me because my coffee was cold and my pancakes were thick but yet great. (Pancake taco)
At this point I did reach out to manager Francisco pulled him to the side (not infront of the waitress or at my table) and advised him of the customer service we were experiencing. Not one time did she stop by our table to check on us we had to request for her to stop and ask for things which is embarrassing to be honest. We had to wait 17 mins as she passed by our table 8 times waiting on our check. Once we got it we immediately just paid the bill even though she charged us for a milk 3.99 (neither of us order a milk)
While waiting for the paid ticket to come back I started writing this review. The ticket finally came back and what do you know “no pen” se we sat and patiently waited for her to return she never did. Another waitress saw us sitting so long she came over to ask if we were ok. We advised we didn’t get a pen to sign the bill. Francisco also returned to the table apologizing and offering us free meal. (We respectfully declined)
We want to patronize others business and want nothing for free just be aware that places and smiling faces are necessary to achieve great customer service! This was a bad customer service experience but the food was tasteful. My only hope for this lengthy review is for waiting staff to realize how important it is for customers to have good...
Read moreI am so irritated with my experience. Let me preface by saying I’ve been serving and bartending for 7+ years, I’ve even been a manger before. I’ve NEVER had such a poor experience before at a place or been to a place where I didn’t eat my food.
We aren’t locals, we’re in town for a wedding. We arrived at this location at about 2:50 pm, it took over 20 minutes for us to get waters or even be greeted. Once we were, we placed our order and it was fairly quick to get to the table. The server (she never gave her name) came to the table as soon as we got our food, so it wasn’t a two bite check. We saw her standing at the host stand talking, her and I even made eye contact twice and she never came. We sat there for a good while trying to give her a chance, never came. I got up and went to the host stand and the host was accompanied by a busser. I told them what was going on and they were very kind about it. I felt so bad complaining because I know what it’s like and they handled it very well. The server THEN came and I explained what was going on and that I spoke to the host and was waiting on the check at this point. She seemed unaware, so there was no communication between the staff. She left and came back with the check and said the manager took the french toast off and she was sorry. The rest of my food was on the check even though I didn’t eat it. Fine. It’s not even about the money, it’s about the principle of how the situation was handled. On top of it all, the manager never came to the table and asked me about my experience, or apologized or offered a different meal (the host did but at the point we needed to go, we already wasted enough time.) However, as a manager, you should be the one checking the table when being alerted of a problem before doing anything to the check just as a reassurance and to understand what the issue was. As a manager, you should be the one to drop the check off, not the server even if you already did something to the check or not. NONE of these things were done by the manager, which irritated me even more.
The stuffed french toast was bland and not what I ordered. I ordered OE eggs, the yolk was fine but the whites were very watery and undercooked. That’s not how an OE egg is made. The sausage was on me, chicken sausage just wasn’t what I expected, however it was cold. The potatoes were also cold and super soft.
My boyfriend’s bloody mary obviously was sitting at the bar for a long time because it was very watered down. His potatoes were the same as mine. He liked his Piedmont omelette though! Biscuits for the table were amazing too!
We were excited to try this place, it just was an awful experience. Maybe we’ll give it another try next time...
Read moreLet me start with the good, the prices. That is literally it. Every aspect of this restaurant is either disappointing or not impressive such as their little biscuits and apple butter that they bring out at the beginning. My visit here started with me being informed that my half pound burger can only be cooked through, not medium rare like I asked which I immediately thought "umm what kind of respectable joint doesn't cook a patty that big to choice?" Even Applebee's would do that for me but moving on, the wait time was ridiculous, and it wasn't busy whatsoever, there was one other table there at the time I was. Me and my girlfriend got a burger and an egg dish between us so what we ordered certainly didn't take long. But that was the least of our concern because the food we were about to eat was so disappointing that I think the three stars I'm giving is generous. My burger was topped with a fried green tomato, applewood smoked bacon and a pimento cheese blend. The meat wasn't the only thing well done because the fried green tomato was literally hard from being so overcooked. Altogether my burger was terrible, The side I got: "moon dusted potatoes" aka great value frozen home fries with adobo, no need to describe those any further. My girlfriends California dreamer egg dish was equally disappointing, and overcooked at that. The avocado was virtually flavorless which means it probably wasn't very fresh. Not to mention the server failed to take away a pile of dishes I had stacked at the corner of the table after 4 visits to us, not that I could make it anymore obvious that they should be taken, she mentioned she was new there but I guess she's new to serving altogether. But I digress, I try to leave servers out of reviews because they are so subjective to an experience at a restaurant. Altogether though after my experience I was utterly shocked at the ratings this establishment has received. Sub par food at best. I assume the positive reviews are in part because it's a rather trendy place, because the chik-fil-a nearby is a much better choice than the constant disappointment I...
