The Oak Room — Restaurant in Raleigh

Not a bad spot to play pool. The new tables and nice lights are a bonus compared to other places in the area. The bartender was nice. Was a little underwhelming otherwise though… First impression was immediately walking in to people playing darts. Couldn’t really get through the door because there were people at the first pool table when you walk in so it was kind of awkward waiting for the people throwing to stop. Bar looks nice but you can’t even see what liquors they have because they’re just kind of just jumbled up together. It was really quiet in there. They had sound on for an old hockey game at a low volume. Not sure why there wasn’t any music but it made for a weird atmosphere. The pool tables are awesome, I do wish they had more than 8 because there is normally a wait. I’ve been here multiple times and the short brunette bartender has been extremely rude. She loudly complains behind the bar about customers while swearing. I’ve heard her call customers annoying to their face and belittle customers by insulting their intelligence and talking to them as if they are kindergarteners. As a bartender myself I understand it can be stressful but the way she treats customers is unacceptable. The other bar tenders were nothing but nice and the pool tables and atmosphere is amazing. I’m so glad to have billiards in Brier Creek! The ambiance is very classy but the drinks are affordable. Not to mention the pool tables are pristine, there are plenty of TVs, and the service is great. Juliana and Alyssa are amazing bartenders! This is a great spot for date night, solo travelers, and late night service industry....
