Waffle House — Restaurant in Raleigh

I can’t rate the food because after waiting over an hour I never got my food. I requested a refund so I could go. At that point it was almost 3am. The lady who seemed to be a manager said would u still like me to make your food & also give u a refund? So I said yes if I can get my food quickly. I waited another 5 or 10 minutes for her to come back to say I can’t give u a refund & remake ur food so I said give me a refund so I can go. ATP i wasn’t even really hungry any anyhow. But let’s talk about Justin who took my order. He clearly needed some help when he took my order but none was given but after I asked for a refund he began to talk big shit and slammed the window in my face after I told him he never asked my names then yelled I don’t have time for this shit. In which I replied I know I not mad at me cuz yall made a mistake. The manager & other employees did not try to deescalate the shouting match we were having. It was the worse experience I have ever had at a Waffle House. When I’m out of town and see them I want to eat there every day. This definitely put a bad taste in my mouth. In the past, I have had some good experiences at this place. But they can be inconsistent. However after today's visit, I don't think I'll be coming back. There were 2 servers, 1 cook. There were roughly 4-5 customers, not busy at all. I was greeted in a cold manner when I walked in & sat at a booth. It took longer than usual to be served. The waitress was not friendly and didn't seem to care. She brought out my waffle first with butter & no syrup and my coffee. I had to wait a while for the rest of my food, and by that time, my waffle was cold. My waitress and the cook disappeared. The other waitress, who seemed slightly more attentive, brought me my food, except the sausage which came last. The eggs were greasy and, when I was finally served my sausage, it was hard and tasted horrible. No one returned to me and asked if I needed anything else. No offer of a coffee refill. It was obvious that none of them cared. I've noticed that they hardly ever bring out all the food at once. Why is this? Other restaurants don't do this. How come they think they can get away with it. My wife and I entered the Waffle House on Hillsborough St in Raleigh about 11:30am on 5/26/2025. All the tables were full so we sat in the waiting area. A white couple came in after us and was still standing. The light skinned waiter with big eyes cleaned a table and told the white couple they could come and sit. I told him we were 1st. We sat down. I asked the waiter did he have decaf coffee.He said he could brew some. While waiting for the coffee, I observed him grabbing a coffee cup with something black on the mouth part. He wiped it off with his hand and proceeded to bring me the coffee. Yuck! I kept it and just wiped that part off with a napkin. I should have given it back to him but I was trying to understand since it was very busy! My wife asked for hot tea. He brought the hot tea in a dirty coffee cup . We ordered and I observed the same waiter scratching his head and then making our waffle. He grabbed the pecans with the same hand instead of using a scope. We decided to go somewhere else.
