3 out of 5 for the coffee, minus 2 out of 5 for the service.
This is a case of a few bad apples spoiling the basket. 75 percent of the workers are decent enough at their jobs. There are two in particular who are not; Donovan (pony tailed guy) and Emory (short curly haired blonde). Between them, they have refused to serve me in favor of flirting with other customers, played around on their phones after taking my order and ignored me, sighed and rolled their eyes at me any time I ask for anything, rolled their eyes at me for existing, handed me broken cookie crumbs in a bag and charging full price, underfilled my drink and acted uppity when I asked them to fill it properly, and scowled at me from across the room for as long as I've been coming in for no discernable reason. I got so tired of it I had to start sitting outside to get away from it, but the passive-aggressive hostility hasn't slowed down.
This is just not acceptable. I've complained multiple times over the last few months, but nobody has taken action to rein in these two individuals' behavior. Since there is no manager on duty, there is no adult to keep them in line. I recommend that you walk the other direction if you see these either of these two, unless you enjoy condescension. I certainly will be, as I have no interest in paying money for this kind of treatment. Their attitude is an insult to me, their own place of work, and their more...
Read moreNice vibes, helpful staff, but I've got suggestions on ways to improve because there's always room for it.
Take our names with our orders so you can call us out-loud when our order is ready. The place was busy and noisy in a good way, but I didn't hear my drink order was up which saving a table in the back. Plus, we like hearing our names.
Please don't serve borderline burnt baked goods. I returned the hard as a rock chocolate chip cookie after my first unpleasant bite without any problems (thank you helpful new guy at the register) and was given a new one from the same batch (I'm told) that was the perfect balance of soft, moist, and tasty. (Yes, I said moist.) If it's overbaked, own it, offer a two for one, give us a heads up and a discount.
Noting that it wasn't just me that felt the cookies were overbaked. Friends that arrived after I returned my cookie also returned theirs after they weren't enjoying their first bites.
Since I am taking the time to leave a review, the turmeric milk could have used pepper as it's traditionally made in India. The way it was served was sub par. Not much flavor.
Last, how about a phone friendly menu oh here (Google maps/business) instead of us relying on client pics...
Read moreCome for the coffee or baked goods (or amazing in house made chocolate!) and stay for the eclectic yet cozy, laid back atmosphere with an ever-changing music selection. Friendly staff too... This quickly became my regular spot to decompress before work. They have some yummy fancy beverages (made with their homemade ingredients), but I usually stick to their drip coffee (roasted locally), which is some of the best I've had and definitely worth a try. The CocaMocha-Nut is great if you want something a little more interesting.
I was on my laptop here today and realized I should mention that while Lucky Tree is a fine place for quiet decompressing before work... reading or journaling, it's also a great place for group meetings (large tables) or co-working. It's very laptop friendly - there are power outlets everywhere. (A lot of places feel like they are getting away from this). Maybe buy some crafts or artwork while you're there...
ALSO Their oatmeal is fantastic. Try it! I never thought I'd be excited about oatmeal, yet...
