UPDATE: The tendency to do oversized orders in the drve-through has gotten absurd. The person taking my order this time was very mumbly and got impatient with my not understanding him. He poorly explained that I had to wait because he was busy with a large order ahead of me. That happened while there were only me and another car in line. This location is very “Raleigh,” and I do not mean well by that. I guess Wendy's really does like its memes, since this store's service has become a meme, or at least a parody of fast food service. I have lowered the rating to one star.
This location has poor drive-through management, especially for the commuter traffic it attracts. In fact, sometimes the drive-through queue seems to be more from mismanaged, understaffed service than actual patron traffic. Although I now limit my visits to off-peak hours, I have visited enough times that weirdly huge orders seem to be the norm. People with large orders stall the line and are never parked ahead or to the side as is common practice elsewhere, and several times people in front have managed to exhaust certain typical sides like chili and even fries. At this point, the drive-through needs a maximum order size limit.
The interior design is small and awkward, especially for the crowds and waiting times. The order pick-up area is small and awkwardly placed adjacent to the drink fountain and utensils. The TV is placed in a weird viewing position, too, as I recall.
For what it's worth, the staff are USUALLY very considerate, and I don't think I've ever really received the wrong order. Otherwise, the spotty service belies the chain's reputation. Regardless of the US-side Internet's weird obsession with it, the food is certainly not worth coping with the thick crowd of...
Read moreDO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! Oh, where to begin??..... arrived at 11:45 for lunch, an 18 wheeler delivery truck was blocking the back entrance AND the drive through, so I went the wrong way through the parking lot in order to park. One register open, two people ahead of me. Took almost 10 minutes to place my order! Credit card reader was not working. The customer ahead of me asked about it. The reply, "I don't know, it never works!" Well, come to find out, neither did the two new-fangled drink dispensers! The only two choices available were caffeine free diet Coke or Fanta Orange. Oh, they were also out of tea... Go figure.... I get my food and was so happy to see that the kind kitchen staff had pre-crushed my crackers in the wrapper for my chili! The crackers looked like cremation remains. Who knows, maybe they were! So now it's past noon and the line is getting longer.... Still only one register open and drive through blocked. At least eight employees present... NONE OF THEM SEEMED TO BE IN A HURRY TO DO ANYTHING. I should have known better... I swore off this place a year ago because of slow service and nasty conditions. This visit confirms that this is the worst run Wendy's in Raleigh. Too bad, I like Wendy's food, but I will not be back. Clean the floors, fix the card reader, fix the drink machines, replenish the tea, open enough registers, smile and be polite. Don't take a delivery at lunch time. All so easy and yet seemingly impossible...
Read moreTerrible service. Cashier got my order wrong at the drive through. I tried let her know I order something that was 99 cent and a drink medium. After handing her my bank card I realized this order was to much for the two items i order. The cashier wouldn't let me explain. She talked all over me. When refused the order and wanted my money back on my bank card the cashier tells me and the manager because I did ask to speak to the manager. The cashier tells the manager and me I did not pay for any food. I went the online banking on my cell phone and showed the manager and that cashier that she did swipe my card for food I refused because the order was wrong and she the cashier wouldn't let me explain what I ordered. Manager food the ticket inside and showed it to cashier that she did charge food to my card. Manager was nice in trying to make thing right and he assured me my money will be put back on my card. I thanked him and he asked was it anything he could get me. I said no. But what you are someone else could to was please let that cashier take some customers services class. I actually thought this cashier was intoxicated and I did go off on her about my money. However I prayed later asking God forgive for some of the harsh words I used and letting this cashier cause me to act out. But I had to get my point across and my money refunded. Never again will I visit that...
