Well, all I can say is what a terribly disappointing lunch. I understand everything is expensive now but it’s just so aggravating to spend $14 and get something that you don’t even enjoy. Ordered hibachi steak and although the taste of the meat was good, every piece was tough and half of the pieces had gristle through it, rendering it virtually uneatable. I can say the rice was OK, but it’s pretty hard to mess up Rice. I think this is simply a case of a restaurant that chooses to squeeze every last penny out of its customers, even if it means using the cheapest products It can buy, and unfortunately it shows I did give them two stars instead of one because the staff was pleasant, and the food was provided promptly.

I was actually very impressed with the speed at which GrubHub got my order to me since I was sick and needed food. So where do I start with the food? It was just altogether bad. I ate the super greasy tiny eggrolls just because my blood sugar had plummeted. The Hibachi Chicken tasted like Spam or something. Definitely could not recognize it as chicken. The whole thing was SO SUPER SALTY, it was inedible. After paying all this money to have food delivered, I’m still left heading to the kitchen trying to see what I can put together after not having bought groceries for awhile. I used to eat here regularly. It’s been years. I don’t know what happened.

I’ve been eating at Hibachi Japan since I was a kid, and it’s still my favorite hibachi place in Raleigh—hands down. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and served in generous portions. For the price you pay, the amount of food you get is unmatched. Whether I’m grabbing lunch or dinner, they never disappoint. If you’re in Raleigh and craving hibachi, this is the spot I always recommend. Consistent, delicious, and worth every penny!

I eat here 3 or 4 times a week and always get hibachi salmon w/ white rice and zucchini not cooked in soy sauce. I spend about $120 a week for myself and my coworker. Today I mixed in the white sauce to my food and only realized it was spoiled after taking my first bite of my food. It was mixed into the rice and vegetables and made it taste very sour. I called to let them know and they asked me to bring it back. I was not able to do so because I could no longer leave the office. They said they would take my number and give me a discount for the next time. which a discount didn't seem right to me considering I paid $30 for me and my coworker to eat and were not able to do so because of the spoiled white sauce that was mixed into my food.

There are so many other better hibachi places than this one. 100 percent can no longer recommend this place to anyone. This place a bit over priced for the low quality customer service they offer.

Try Tenko Japan... its right down the road...

I am a woman of color and I came to visit for the first time and they gave me two pieces of broccoli spears and I asked for more broccoli and told her I was given two, she told me because they have so little broccoli left she couldn't give me anymore so I said okay I don't want to inconvenience you then I came back to order more broccoli then seen her place 5-6 pieces in ea.of 3 of 4 takeout box (didn't see the first completd). He was hispanic and she was Mexican. I then said I saw you place five to six pieces of broccoli spears in each of those plates so I would like some more broccoli, she told me she gave me four pieces and I told her no you gave me two she wanted to argue with me I told her I know how to count. I left same The devil is a liar and called her a liar, I left wiping the dust off my feet of that establishment. I prophesied if she's lying she will have night terrors, knowing she lied. It screamed discrimination...

Pros: The food was cooked fresh and they were willing to accommodate substitutions. For example, I wanted only zucchini for my veggies, no onions. The portion size was also appropriate. They aren't stingy with their sauce and have a little "sauce bar" where you can get your own if you eat in.

Cons: The lady working the counter isn't exactly welcoming, not like my patronage was appreciated. I've had white sauce/yummy sauce before and it's normally a light pink/peachy color from the ketchup and spices they add to the mayo. Their white sauce was just that, white, nearly all mayo which took my breath when I popped the lid off. I got hibachi shrimp with rich and veggies. The food was cooked fresh while I waited for a short 5-8 mins, but it was pretty darn bland. Even the ginger sauce was quite bland, but covering the food in it did give it a little flavor.

Overall, it wasn't gross, but I was disappointed I wasted...
