I actually had a surprisingly good experience at this Sushi place. Very good parking space on the streets and also in the back of the restaurant.
FOOD: The fish quality was very good. I go around many different cities for work, and a good friend of mine recommended this place, and the tuna fin specialty was really spot on. Given, it's really difficult to get high quality tuna fin for a reasonable price, $6/piece was a sold deal for me. I also ordered some sushi rolls; shrimp, eel, and salmon. All were delicious and well-crafted.
SERVICE: this is important to me. I was greeted by the welcoming hostess, and the service was excellent overall. Being comfortable was all I needed after a war-like environment at work during AM. Considering it was lunch hour, not many people sat down to eat, but rather, most people came around to pick their lunch up. I also enjoyed the Sushi-man's performance. He was pretty funny guy to talk to. By the accent, I don't think he is a Japanese, but maybe Korean. (Somebody correct me if I'm wrong)
ATMOSPHERE: pretty quiet. smooth music, which took me back to the 90's and early 2000's. I'd have to visit once more in the evening to make a better call on this. I can see this street filled with people over the weekend nights.
PRICE&VALUE: also very important to me. For lunches, you can't get any better sushi than here. Period. There are a few other Asian cuisines near by, but this is hands-down the best value. I can definitely see myself becoming a regular at this place whenever I don't feel like packing lunches or cooking dinner.
OVERALL: Great lunch experience. Maybe I'll do takeouts or deliveries on my next lunches. Great, hard-working people. Laid-back atmosphere. Maybe I'll try to find something negative about...
Read moreDon't eat here. Every other sushi place in our area charges between $13.99 to $15.00 for their 3 roll lunch special which comes with a soup or salad, but Maguro charges $18 and there's no soup or salad included. On top of that their sushi isn't very good, and tastes like grocery store sushi. They don't give you soy sauce in a dipping cup for a to go order like most sushi places, instead they gave me only 2 small packets of soy sauce which wasn't nearly enough for the 3 rolls and salad I ordered. Very difficult parking situation and in spite of the fact that I was the only customer inside, the woman who took my credit card was very unfriendly to me and was visibly annoyed with having to process my credit card and hand me my bag. Why would I ever come here again? Why would you? Spare yourself and visit any of the many wonderful sushi places in the area, this place...
Read moreThis is my GO-TO spot whenever I need to fill some sushi cravings. It's a small restaurant that seats about 20 people MAX if you're lucky. It's around the corner from 3rd so don't give up if you can't find the place right away. They have a bunch of specialty rolls and variations of all your typical hot plate Japanese food. I haven't ordered the hot plates too much but definitely recommend this place if you're looking for sushi. Service is quick and they have a whole line of sushi chefs to prepare everything that you want. They have very nice presentation and of course the most important, the taste is fresh and flavorful. You really can't go wrong here...
