2 stars only because we used to have pretty good experiences every time we shopped there but this time was a complete shock and insult. My daughter received a sweatershirt as a gift and didn't love the color or design so we put it back in the bag it came in and I put it in my car to remember to return it. We finally get a free hour (30 min ride to get there) and start the exchange process when one of the woman told us we can't exchange it, that it's been worn. I was confused and shocked. My daughter didn't even try it on, let alone wear it. I explained all this and then the owner went as far as to suggest that the person who gifted probably wore it and washed it before gifted it to us. What a wildly inappropriate accusation. My 13 year old was so excited for her first Hazel sweatshirt and all we got was accused of something unethical. The truth is, and I'm sure they know it, clearly this was a previously returned item that they accepted and put back on the selling floor. Nobody caught on that it was worn and they just resold it. Unfortunately my girlfriend was the unlucky one to pick that specific sweatshirt and gift it to my daughter. We ended up leaving without an exchange AND without the original sweatshirt (why would I want to keep a worn sweatshirt!?!?). The owner really needs to learn a thing or 2 about customer service. You make a huge margin on your sweatshirts (I know, I work production for clothing). This should have been when you take a small loss and offer a replacement to ensure your customers A) return in the future to shop there B) write a positive review about their experience. Lost a loyal...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe employees need a lesson in service and assuming it starts at the top... As a small business owner myself, I have never written a bad review regarding another small business, but the rudeness and attitude of the team was quite unacceptable. My daughter received quite a few of their bracelets for her bday a few weeks ago and one of them fell off due to a broken clasp. I wanted to exchange it and was told no receipt no exchange. It was in their packaging and obvious that it was purchased from them. After back and forth and "checking" to see if they could find the receipt from the gift giver (not sure how because they don't have a CRM and do not ask for names) - i was told they found the receipt but only paid half of the cost, which doesn't make any sense since they never have a sale. So not sure what "info" they were giving from their Belmar location - but it was obviously false. All for a silly broken clasp of which they have hundreds of bracelets. I guess their CURRENT popularity has gone to their heads - but its important to remember, as quickly as they have become CURRENT, they can easily not - especially after I start spreading the word and finding a NEW place to spend my money. I would pay double and would have accepted their answer if it wasn't presented so rudely and with attitude. Get yourself and your team some soft skills training if you plan on being in business for more than...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI drove here from NY (45 minutes each way) with some friends to go shopping. We purchased 2-3 things each and somehow all managed to spend $150. All of the girls working were not nice, almost snobby, and were not very helpful. Two days after going, I wore a pair of sweatpants I bought from them. After about 30 minutes of wearing them I noticed a hole next to seam on the back of the sweatpants. I drive 45 minutes back to the store to see about getting an exchange, discount, or refund. Again, the girls working were all very rude, had an attitude, and insisted there was nothing they could do because the sweatpants didnāt have the tag on them. I explained that I had only worn them for 30 minutes and had never washed them, and removed the tag because i didnāt believe anything would be wrong with them (because why would they let merchandise with holes in it be sold in the first place). They told me that they couldnāt do anything about it without calling their manager, who was unreachable for the day (poor planning!), and that all they could do was take my name and number and the manager MIGHT call me back. Having to go through all of this for a pair of sweatpants wouldnāt have been so bad if the staff was at all nice about. Instead, I was met with nothing but attitude and glares from every employee working. Their staff is in desperate need of retraining and a...
