Went here the other day for lunch and it was packed but we got a table in less than 5 mins. Got a Philly cheesesteak and I was less than impressed, first of all it did not taste like a Philly cheesesteak I don’t know what that was, second I bit into a piece that was a little hard and it turned me off altogether. I told the waitress about it and she took my plate and showed it to this old lady who I guess was the chef. The chef lady came back and told me the meat was so tender and I told her whatever piece I had was not and she kept going on and on about how tender it was that I didn’t have a chance to tell her that it wasn’t even good anyway because that’s not how you make a Philly. Honestly I thought her reaction was super rude and she embarrassed me in front of people. Lady that Philly was NOT good to begin with. If someone criticizes your food and are not happy with it learn from it and make it better, don’t come out and plead your case, she made me seem like I was a liar. Anyway, I ended up getting the tuna melt which was actually good. The chips and salsa were pretty tasty, the cafe mocha was good and our waitress with the red glasses was nice and had better customer service than the chef. The Philly cheesesteak needs a remodel in flavor, fixings and possibly meat choice. The desserts looked amazing but I didn’t have time to stay for a piece, plus I was super annoyed. I am sure this place is great hence how busy it was, but for my first experience I was...
Read moreI worked two shifts for this place. I immediately noticed that employees aren’t required to wash their hands before touching customers food and plates. They do not wash their pitchers between making beverages on an espresso bar, causing a build up of bacteria and crusted milk throughout the day. They also reuse milk that’s already been steamed (heated to temp, cooled back down to room temp after being left on the counter for the next drinks, then reheated). They don’t keep their soups at temp, despite them sitting out on the stove all day. This offers the threat of bacteria build up, especially in the soups that have meat in them. I had to microwave each bowl of soup and gravy before serving it. If this wasn’t enough, I quit when the owner (Shawna) called me repeatedly while I was at my other job and then didn’t recognize my number when I called her back. She went on to try to guilt trip me, telling me I had insulted her business. I insulted no one, I expressed quiet concern for the lack of basic food handling safety. The response to my concerns was to not-so-passively tell me that maybe I didn’t have the right personality for the “family”(business). I refuse to work in a place that doesn’t have their customers health and best interest in mind. The amount of cross contamination and unsanitary practices is shocking. Their food is decent, but I doubt if they’d pass a...
Read moreMy wife and I went to dinner at Lido on a Friday night and could not have been more disappointed. I really wanted to like this restaurant, as it is locally owned and operated, visually charming, clean and it serves throughout the day. Both the service and the food were poor. I ordered a beer, but the server returned to tell me it was one of several they don’t have, although they are printed on the menu. My wife asked for a different sauce on her order; the server returned to tell us it couldn’t be done. We were brought our appetizer without utensils or plates, we had to ask for those. Each of our entrees was made incorrectly, mine did not contain the meat I ordered and my wife’s was made so improperly that it had to be started over again. At no time were we offered anything to make up for the errors, and at no time did any manager, etc. visit our table. The server, upon presenting the bill, indicated that we hadn’t been charged for two small items, totaling $5, on a $50 bill. That was the extent of the apology for the poor meals. Ordinarily I would have asked for a manager, but we had guests and we were on a schedule, and needed to leave. I can get better food and equal or better service at dozens of walk-up or family style restaurants, we won’t be...
