I’d give it 0 stars if I could. Honestly I’m not sure what’s going on with this place, but this time it was actually a really bad experience. I’ve been to this location a dozen times, always gone back bc it’s a great kbbq. But this time my girlfriend, friend, and i went for lunch on a weekend and it was the worst experience we’ve had and don’t plan on going back. First off the cuts of meat were terrible. We requested thick cut pork belly, came out thin cut? and extremely short? I understand it’s lunch time, but this was actually ridiculous. Aside from the meat, the service was worse. From the beginning, our waitress did not want to seem to be there at all. We were sat and she came around to take our first order, which came out at a reasonable time. We had ordered one order of cheese corn, and three came out. Not a big deal, just not what we ordered. But the problem happened for our next two orders. We were there for 2 hours, and left hungry. Our waitress would come to our section, but skip us? She would go to the two other tables she had, but then skip us. We had to ask the other waitress to take our order. Then we asked for a grill change. We waited idk how long before the other waitress that took our order came over, saw we STILL didn’t have a grill change, and just took a grill from the empty table next to us. Oh in addition to this, the entire row of tables behind us was PILED with dirty dishes. They were there from the time we sat down at 2:30 until we left at 5p. We wanted sesame balls to finish off and take with us, so we ordered 3 ORDERS. The one order of cheese corn that turned into 3? Yeah, we only received 1 ORDER of sesame balls. At the end of this experience, we requested our check. After 20 minutes of waiting for it, we got up bc we were so frustrated, and found our waitress chatting with the other one. We requested additional orders of sesame balls, as we wanted some sort of redemption. That took an additional 30 min bc it wasn’t communicated to the kitchen where we were standing, even though the waitresses told us to wait at the bar. Idk, it’s up to you whether to go or not, maybe just don’t go during lunch on the weekends if you want to feel cheated, maybe it’s the lack of staffing, but we won’t be going back. We go to Bullta! A lot cheaper and better...
Read moreMy 14 year old daughter and I came for the all you can eat lunch today. Even during lunch the place was quite busy. However they had a table for us in about 5 minutes. We ordered potstickers cajun garlic fries and sweet chilli wings from the appetizer list. They were all really good served fresh and hot and without too long of a wait. We were also brought the house salad rice and side dishes. I really like the rice here and the salad was plain but good. The sides included kimche and about 6 other dishes i cannot name. I tried them all and found that most were not my cup of tea. I did however really like a spicy cabbage carrot and jalapeno salad it was the perfect level of spice and i could have eaten three times as many servings because it was so full of flavor. Then we ordered our meats to grill at the table. We got garlic shrimp chilli pork and sesame beef. The shrimp were our favorite. The beef was very tasty and the pork had a nice flavor with just the right amount of heat. We also got an assortment of vegetables to grill and some teriyaki and spicy dipping sauces. After finishing the first round of meat we ordered garlic chicken beef bulgagi and yang yum beef short rib golbi. One beef item had a traditional marinade while the other had a sweet marinade. They were both amazing. The meats are thinly sliced making them quick and easy to cook. We have been coming here for years and have brought many friends and family members with us. Everyone has loved them. They never disappoint and the quality is always consistently great. My daughter considers them her favorite restaurant. Our server was very polite friendly and on top of his job making sure our water and sodas were always filled up and that we never ran out of food. We used to live in Rancho Cordova and recently moved to Elk Grove. There is another Oz in EG but we came back to this one because of how great it always is rather than trying the one closer to our new home. This place is fabulous and i hope they never change a thing. I would recommend to everyone that they...
Read moreI had been wanting to visit a Korean BBQ restaurant for a long time. I’m a huge fan of Korean dramas and Korean food, and I’ve already tried nearly every Korean restaurant in the area. But when we came to Oz, it turned out to be the worst restaurant experience of my life — worse than any small cafés or cheap diners I’ve ever been to. The food was terrible. I honestly don’t understand how anyone can make meat taste so bad. The sauces were awful, cheap, and clearly poured straight from a giant can. The marinated meats were inedible; the only thing that was somewhat acceptable was the steak. The vegetables were raw and tasteless, and aside from soy sauce and BBQ, there were no proper sauces at all. The corn with cheese dish was just ridiculous — bland, boring, and lacking any originality. Service was also extremely slow, clearly done on purpose so customers would order less. We waited more than an hour for our food.
This was probably the only place where I’ve ever felt so disrespected — being forced to wait for over an hour even though they told us it would be 30–45 minutes at most. And the worst part? There were plenty of empty tables the entire time. I asked the waiter why, and he gave some nonsense excuse about a “fundraising event.” But later, those same tables were still only partially occupied. At least 30% of the seats were empty the whole time. It really felt like they were creating an artificial waitlist. It’s absolutely not worth going there — it was a disgusting experience.
To be fair, our waitress herself was fine — she took the order correctly and did her job well. I have no complaints about her personally. But the restaurant’s system and food quality...
