Card Quest — Local services in Rancho Cordova

When I discovered this place a month or so ago, I was pumped. It had been years since I went to a card shop and I was just getting back into collecting Pokemon cards. When I walked in, I was greated and pleased to see the variety of stuff they had on display! They had single cards, booster packs, tin packs, Elite trainer boxes and all sorts of other box sets. They also had a TON of the different series of Pokemon cards, including what I was looking for, 151. Did some price checking and bought a couple booster packs. Since then, I've been quite a bunch and have had a very good experience every time. I saw some reviews on here that were super recent and all with a 1 star. They make claims like the shop doesn't have a good selection, the place is cluttered and dirty, and staff were just busy playing on their phone. This couldn't be further from the truth. The place is super well organized, they have a hell of a selection, and staff is always actively helping and talking with customers. They also usually have a bunch of people playing different card games and hanging out at the many tables they have in the store. This place has been great, and today I had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners, Mandeep (hopefully I didn't spell that too wrong!) He was a great dude and was a big help. I had come very last minute and he was more than welcoming to me and gladly helped me out. I had a question about package color differences, and he helped answer my question about that and made me feel a lot better about the packs I bought online from a random seller. This place is great. Ignore these obviously fake or fabricated reviews. Since there are so many posted super recently, it appears they are being 1 star bombed. If you're looking to buy some pokemon cards, go...

Bought two copies of a Pokémon card. Both were priced differently. I did not notice they were priced differently since one was resting underneath the other card. I only noticed the price of the card on top. I asked for both cards and to be rung up. I did not check the cards. Clerk rang me up for a slightly larger amount than I expected since I multiplied the amount i saw by 2x and accounted for tax. It wasn’t much but a difference. I then checked the cards and said “oh I though they were both “x” amount” clerk says “ oh they’re both in mint/good condition, and we haven’t updated the price since it actually went up in price so you’re getting a good deal.” It makes no sense to sell the same item at different prices. All shops that I’ve been to have matched the price to the lower one since that’s what they priced. If it had indeed gone up, I would’ve preferred you check TCGp or any market price site and raised both prices to its current value.

The amount wasn’t a lot but I cared more so that you noticed the prices were different, did not make me aware, rang me up, and lied saying that the price had gone up and I was getting a deal. I double checked TCG to confirm. The price had not gone up. I even bought 2 copies of that same card at another shop earlier today at current TCGp value. Imagine buying two identical copies, the same sku, the same product of something, but one is a higher price and then you get told you’re getting a deal.

Shady business. So I sold Daniel 12 Sleeved Packs of TEAM UP. Obviously, not cheap packs. His order was $1068 + Tax. I packed them very neatly (4) packs per box and then added packing material and then those boxes place into a bigger box for extra protection. I also put TAMPER EVIDENT tape on the box. That clearly states (if seal of broken check contents before accepting)…. What does Daniel do? Apparently he accepted the empty box and sent me a video that looked staged. Cardquest is now barred from purchasing my product. Oh, not to mention; Daniel also blocked my phone numbers and ignored my eBay messages. If you weren’t guilty wouldn’t have you tried to make it right instead of letting it escalate to this? I know I would have responded if I were in your shoes. You should really learn the priorities of running a small business and not be selfish. All you had to do is message me to clear things up and I could have deleted my review if you came back being honest. So I would say it’s quite shady for you to block me instead and leave me a negative feedback.
