UPDATE 2: 6/28/23 Got jajangmyeon and jampong and both were solid. Jampong slightly underseasoned, but I thought it was pretty tasty. Seafood didn’t taste rancid, so no complaints. My girlfriend thought the jajangmyeon at the KP food court was nasty, and was worried jajangmyeon just isn’t made well these days, but she thought this one was pretty decent. 9.99 deal jajangmyeon (normally 12.95) and 15.95 jampong. We prefer their stir fried jampong.
UPDATE: Came again 2-13-22, prices have increased another two dollars or so since my pictures! I got jampong and spicy chicken. It's approaching a level where I'm debating if it's worth it despite large portions. The jampong was okay for the price; the one mussel in it tasted slightly sketchy but I didn't get sick. Spicy chicken was pretty good, but some pieces were slightly dry. For this, total was $42.30.
Came around 12/01/21 ish. Recently moved to Sac County area, coming from Southern California. I don't know much about what korean food is offered around here, but this place was alright. The tangsuyuk is not the typical kind you get at these korean-chinese food places. The pork was thicker, slightly tougher, and breaded differently. The sauce was pretty on par for these places, had what looked like canned pineapple slices, bell peppers, wood ear (i think) mushrooms, and more. It was a bit on the tangy side, and tasted a little less flavorful than I am used to but it was fine in a pinch, slightly overpriced imo.
The stir fried jampong, I wasn't sure what to expect, but basically it tasted like jampong but in stir fried form lol. It was pretty delicious, fairly spicy and had that yummy seafood umami taste with plenty of octopus in it, a few clam and shrimp as well, with bok choy, cabbage, and more. The noodles were delicious, although it was quite oily, but maybe it had to do with me asking for it to be extra spicy. Very rich delicious flavor. I haven't tried they're regular jampong though, so not sure what to compare it to.
The kimchi and yellow radish pickle that came with it was pretty decent. The kimchi felt a little light on seasoning but it was still pretty fresh tasting and I enjoyed it.
Portions were not bad, except I thought the tangsuyuk was slightly overpriced as I mentioned before. Quite filling meal with those two orders, lasted us two meals for two people. Food came out REALLY fast. When she said 5 minute wait for the food, it was no joke. Everything must already be prepped.
The market itself was pretty empty. It looks like it is primarily a restaurant...
Read moreThis place has been open about a year going on 2 I think. I can't believe it hasn't been added until today. I totally LOVE their stir fried jajang!!!! It is sooooo good and the portion is HUGE. It's enough for at least 3 or 4 people. I usually get their stir fried jajang and some fried dishes, but always the fried jajang 😋 It is honestly the best I've tasted in town, I actually havent seen any other place seeve fried jajang. They used to be a convience store but transitioned to just a resturant. They have a small variety of drinks and frozen goods in their freezer including ice cream. They also have kimichi that is made their for sale which I bought and was delicious! The service I'd say is a 4 out of 5. They seem a bit stand offish most of the time. Like they "have" to serve or help me, not that they want to. The interior is very open & they have nice furniture. There are a lot of Korean families who come to eat here, a lot of elderly, and the vibe is relaxed and seems out of a Kdrama (tbh). I never eat inside bc I don't feel comfortable but hope to go and eat inside soon. They have some Interesting dishes I still...
Read moreI recently tried here again. They improved a lot. Especially jajangmyeon is so good. The amount of ingredients which means meats and veggies are good enough. Jajang myeon is not watery anymore but also not too thick. Spicy chicken is still so good . I tried fried rice for the first time. I can feel well cooked rice on the wok. This is the best jajang myeon place in sacramento so far.
It was my first reviews.———————————— I gave them 4 stars that time. I tried some cafeteria menu. Spicy chicken was very tasty. They know how to fries and make the sauce. However, Jajangmeon was pretty watery and compared to Jampong it needs more topping. Jampong has enough seafood topping with veggies. Staff were nice too. Next time I’d like to try...
