This 1 Star review is only for their FAKE “FRIES” Location: At Haven City Market food court.
SHORT VERSION: Their “fries” are mojo “fries” that aren’t crispy at all. Basic sliced potato rounds smothered in garlic aioli gravy. Just order the gravy and ask for a spoon.
EXTENDED VERSION: I wanted better fries to go with my Fire Wings than the ones sold at Fire Wings for $8.00. (Not worth it, fyi.) Saw that this spot had “Garlic Aoli Fries” for about $6. Ordered them to go. Service was fine. The “fries” were packaged in a neat little box. With fork. (?) Good smell coming out. So, of course, once I was in my car, I opened it up.
The white sauce on top looked legit. Went to grab a fry …. NOT what I was expecting. What the hell kinda fake fry is this???? Where I’m from a “fry” is short for “French fry.” They can come in a lot of ways - thin, thick, curly, crinkled. But they are always some form of rectangle cut. Like a stick. What they are not is potato sliced in circles, aka, “Mojo fries” aka always prefaced with “mojo” before “fries.” Bar Daddy’s “fries” are Mojo fries. That’s not what I wanted.
Now, don’t get me wrong. The aoli garlic sauce is legit. I thought it would make up for the fake fries. But to do so, the fries would actually have to be “fried,” aka crispy. Not soft all over. Not like the very same thing I can easily make at home, only better. I mean, the whole point of eating out is to get something that I can’t easily make at home BETTER.
I felt bait and switched! Potato tricked! The only good thing to come out of this is that it has inspired me to find the best FRIES aka FRENCH FRIES, at Haven City Market.
So far, the Cajun fries and Garlic fries at the Shrimp spot are the best. They are actually fries. And better than Fire Wings fries (Fire Wings have great wings) and Bar Daddy’s fake fries.
I may come back to Bar Daddy one day to try their bar. But based on 1st impression,...
Read moreOrdered the "Spanish Beef" burger and the "Mojo Cheese Potatoes" with tall can of Corona beer. This location advertises their Burgers as gourmet burgers and the pictures of the food are very misleading. The Burger that was served to me was flat and boring. It looked like a burger served from a school cafeteria. The meat itself was lukewarm and the buns had no taste. The jalapeños and cheese were invisible under the bun, yet Burger is advertised as "Gourmet". I asked the young lady at the counter if the Burger was large before I ordered and she assured me they are large. She even asked if I wanted the Burger cut in half and I said "yes, please".
The "Mojo cheese Potatoes" were very disappointing. I took my first bite into one of the Potato chips and I immediately tasted freezer burn. They smother the potatoes with cheese to mask the taste of frost bitten potatoes. The potatoes were lukewarm and not crispy at all. The jalapeños they served with this order were not tasteful at all. I was expecting pickled or at least fresh jalapeños mixed with the cheese or as advertised.
On top of all this tasteless and unappetizing food, it took 30 minutes to make my order. The Burger was not cut in half. This was not a busy day.The only thing that I was able to enjoy was my cold tall beer, which I almost finished...
Read moreMID-TIER Burger w/ a neat little bar. The BurgerIM inside of Haven City Market is more of a drinking spot. They have $6 beer and some stools. It’s a chill place to hang, it’s not a party bar. I wish the food was better, the burger patties are delicious but they’re overshadowed by a bun I could get at Burger King. The patty is also kinda skinny for what you pay for. I enjoyed the Bacon Cheese Mojos but all I could think about is how much better the mojos are at Shakey’s Pizza. The mojos are more like thin potato dimes, they’re tasty but I’ve had better. There’s a self-serve fountain for soft drinks which is nice so I was happy I could get refills without haven’t to go up to the register. The tables and seating for BurgerIM inside the hall are clean and well-kept. However, the seating outside which is designated for BurgerIM customers was very dirty and non of the employees came to clean up. The staff are okay, they were helpful and made sure our order was correct. I’d suggest visiting some of the other eateries at Haven City for food and returning here for a relaxing...
