Came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary our server was very attentive Owen I believe his name was. all of the appetizers were delicious my wife ordered the halibut it was delicious. The reason for the 3-star rating was due to a couple of things that could have gone better. I ordered the prime New York steak medium rare. When my dinner arrived the steak was cooked to the correct temperature but as you can see in the picture below it was a very sad excuse for a steak on the right side you can see all the fat from the top to the bottom that Trails on the side of the steak and the big piece of fat that's sticking on the left side of the bottom of the steak, for Prime Steak there shouldn't be any fat especially for a New York strip. When I cut into the steak there was way too much Gristle and the steak was very tough now I don't expect New York to be tender like a filet but it shouldn't be as rough as this one was and the flavor was just not there I question the fact that I thought the steak was actually pan-seared our waiter said no it was done over a grill but how sad is that because look at this steak do you see the grill marks on this thing? Because I don't it looks like it was just done in the pan with oil. I only took one maybe two bites of the steak and I sent it back the problem with that was by the time the waiter came back to check on us my wife was completely done with her fish and I didn't even start to eat anyting I didn't bother ordering the New York again I changed my order to the ribeye. Midway through waiting on my steak to be done a female manager approached us saying that she was sorry and that the steak would be out as fast as possible. In all honesty it probably took another 15 minutes so the whole time that my wife was eating her meal Plus by the time the waiter came back and then the 15 minutes to wait for the new steak I'd say everything took about 40 minutes before I actually got my dinner to eat after my wife's. So basically my wife ate alone and then I ate alone. When the bill was dropped I was a little shocked. I do feel the manager did all the proper steps by checking on us by delivering the new steak. But when you consider that my wife was eating alone and I had to wait 40 minutes for my new steak to arrive I would think she would at least comp us one of the three appetizers that we ordered but nothing was compensating on our bill. The bill was over $200 I do believe that there are certain protocols that should be followed especially as a manager when you have a party that has a legitimate complaint due to the quality of the food and having to wait that long and for the inconvenience of what it causes I do feel that at least comping one appetizer would have been acceptable but she did nothing and we paid for the entire meal which was fine but we learned our lesson with this place and we definitely won't be back there's plenty of places where we can get a good Fish & Steak at the same time. But if this steak was done on the grill like they said it's a pretty sad excuse and I question that it is prime to begin with. prime steaks do not look and taste like this, this was a very bad cut of meat. I do feel the manager could have handled the situation A...
Read moreLate review, from New Years: we made a reservation for an early dinner, we got a great table, quiet, romantic, the service was attentive and such great food. I love their steak, I had braised short rib with a well paired horseradish sauce. I wanted more and the short rib was so flavorful and tender, the hubby had blackened rib eye with mushrooms and it cut like butter ! We both had creamy mashed potatoes. We also had their cheddar, chive biscuits and salt and pepper shrimp. Then we relaxed before ordering lattes with the butter cake and hubby had the seasonal pumpkin tart. Everything was delicious!! We had dinner here and ate on the patio: we had fresh warm bread, salt and pepper shrimp, then short ribs with mashed potatoes and shrimp linguine and for dessert...the excellent butter cake with ice cream and fresh berries, yum, this was the bomb ! Everything was very good, great service, perfect place for a date night. This meal was amazing. We had shrimp cocktail with homemade sauce. The shrimp was succulent and the sauce had just the right amount of spice. Next we shared a colb salad. I love when they split it, so good. We both had the blackened rib eye but I requested just salt, pepper and garlic. These rib eyes cut like butter and were perfect. The mashed potatoes were also just right and homemade. Lastly we shared 2 desserts; the chocolate cake with chocolate grenache, cherry and heavy whipping creme-- what a combination. This is a new favorite. We also had the ice cream with homemade short bread cookies. The ice cream was really good. The cookies were more like a butter cookie but still tasty. Highly recommended. 139.00 for this and ginger ale and iced tea. Worth it for the casually hip and low keyed atmosphere, great background music and top notch service. What a meal ! Took family here, top notch, see new pics. Will be...
Read moreBring bug spray, or just carry-out. OK, probably the 5th or 6th time we've visited, but the definitely the last because the experience was bad, and I don't like forking out ~$140 for lunch for 3 that's not good. Our waitress was pleasant, so $28 tip on top of the $140 lunch. Ambiance--place was almost empty, got seated in the Northeastern corner, where there were gnats. We politely remarked during appetizers and asked to be reseated. As the lead waiter or manager apologized, she explained, it was an ongoing problem. She further explained that the gnats reproduce every 24 hours and mostly were around the bar and kitchen....TMI? Q1: if it's a problem, figure out how to fix? Q2: if it's a problem concentrated to the kitchen and bar, why would you seat customers in those areas?. Q3: Why would you ever confide that it's an ongoing problem? Food: Calamari was great. $48 Ribeye was closer to a flap steak, which is almost impossible to cook medium-rare due to the thickness...my 10 yr old selects and cooks Ribeye better in a pan on the stove. Honestly, I wouldn't pay $10 at the market for whatever PMs served. Quinoa dish was OK. I did notice that my guest's snow peas were neatly separated and placed along the side; she said she just didn't like the texture, and frankly I don't know how you can mess up snow peas. Lastly there was my veggie burger....not bad, but not $19 good...avocado was mushy and whatever they tried to do with "boiled cherry tomatoes made no sense"....I ate a few of the fries, but the gnats found us and I lost my appetite. I can't see myself ever returning. Staff was nice enough, but the ambiance of gnats and quality of food makes me appreciate what I have and we can do at home to put a superior meal on a table free of gnats and of known...
