We were looking forward to this place because several friends recommended it. We went at 4:30pm on a Tuesday, so we were surprised to see several other people there at such an odd time - usually a sign that it's good food! However, we had a disappointing experience.
We ordered a full size of the mostaccioli to share between the two of us. Because there's so few things on the menu, the speed was amazing! Literally 3 minutes to get our entree!!
However, out came spaghetti, not mostaccioli. We didn't realize at first when the waiter delivered it, but only when we put our forks in a few seconds later. We called the waiter back and told him, and he said they would be right back with the mostaccioli, and he put his arms out to take our spaghetti plate. We were surprised, as usually restaurants comp that kind of thing and let you keep it. I awkwardly said something like, "Wait, you guys are just going to throw that away, right?" He replied that they would compost it. He stared at us seriously/blankly, not seeming to understand at all why we were asking. It seemed like such a strange thing... I'm very anti-food-waste, so it was just baffling to me that they would take a perfectly good plate of spaghetti and compost/trash it! He wasn't getting it, so I had to awkwardly say something like, "Well, we're fine with keeping it and taking it to-go or something." He said he wouldn't want us to get charged for two. I said something like, "But you're just going to compost it, right?" I did not say it in an aggressive way - more like a dumb-founded way. He replied very seriously, "We have a very good compost." o_O
Anyway, just a couple minutes later we got our plate of mostaccioli (basically spaghetti, but with penne noodles). The serving size was nice and large and more than enough for the two of us. However, the dish was just... pasta. Really nothing tooooo different than what we could have...
Read moreI recently ordered pickup from Vince's Spaghetti, expecting a satisfying Italian meal. Unfortunately, my experience fell far short of my expectations.
To start, the pickup service was fast and easy, which was a positive aspect. However, when I eagerly dug into the food, I was immediately disappointed. The meat sauce was incredibly salty, overpowering the entire dish and making it almost unbearable to eat. It was a stark contrast to what I had previously enjoyed from this establishment.
Even the bread, which is usually a highlight at Italian restaurants, was just okay. It lacked the freshness and flavor I had come to expect. The side salad was another letdown. It arrived soggy, as if it had been sitting for too long before being packaged. The combination of these factors made the overall experience far from pleasant.
While I understand that restaurants can have off days, the consistently subpar quality of the food was disheartening. I had hoped for a delicious and satisfying meal, but I left feeling unsatisfied and let down.
I believe in providing constructive feedback, so I reached out to Vince's Spaghetti to express my disappointment. I hope they take note of the issues I mentioned and make the necessary improvements to ensure a better dining experience for future customers.
Based on this experience, I am hesitant to order from Vince's Spaghetti again. However, I acknowledge that everyone deserves a second chance, so if they are willing to address their shortcomings, I may reconsider in the future.
If you're looking for a reliable Italian dining experience, I recommend exploring other options in the area until Vince's Spaghetti can deliver the quality they are known for once again.
Remember, this is just my personal experience, and others may have had different encounters with...
Read more5:50pm - Our family viewed the online menu and began placing our dinner order online.
6:15pm - Gave up on their website after wasting time placing order only to have the website crash a number of times.
6:30pm - Called their Rancho location(big mistake) and explained we spent nearly half an hour on their website to no avail. A rude young lady informed me that despite our troubles, they do not take orders by phone, and rudely began saying "thank you goodbye" while I was trying to ask her a question.
6:40pm - We then called their Ontario location and not only did they offer order by phone, they told us the other location refuses phone orders to force customers to use their website/app(WHICH DOESN'T WORK). Not because they are too busy, not because of any legitimate reason. The Ontario location was more polite, but they said they did not offer Antipasto salad on weekends(???) nor did they offer Spumoni(or any other) ice cream, both of which were on the obviously outdated website menu. They also mentioned they knew the website always crashes. And the gal back at the Rancho location didn't even bother to tell us that the Ontario location does offer phone in orders.
7:00pm - We picked up our order and back at the hotel came to find they provided us with no plasticware and no napkins.
So, if you are interested in this type of dining experience, enjoy. Otherwise, if you and your family are tired and hungry after a long drive and just looking for a good, quick meal, keep looking. We should have read some of the other reviews before we made...
