Panera Bread — Restaurant in Rapid City

We were excited to have our very first experience at Panera. We went in just over an hour before closing to place a to-go order. We ordered the mac and cheese that is supposed to come with either a side of bread, apples, or chips for two of our kids. We chose the bread as the side since we were in a “bread” store and were excited to try their baguettes. We were told that they were out of bread and could only do apples or chips. We asked if we could try one of the breads located on the shelf behind the cashier instead since they were out of bread. She said yes but that she’d have to charge us extra. Really? You are out of bread and now you want to charge us extra for a different bread??? Terrible service but ok I guess. We still wanted to try the place out. We then ordered the French onion soup, squash soup, turkey chili, creamy tomato soup, and a sandwich. They had the sandwich. True story. They only had 2 out of 8 soups on the menu. No apologies offered, no concessions made. We left and fed our family of 5 at another place that was awesome, friendly,...

Ordered two bowls of soup here two weeks ago. Posted the order 30 minutes in advance, and when I came to pick it up, they made me wait an additional 20 minutes just to put the order together. No big deal, right? They’re busy I guess so whatever

Anyway, about 30 minutes ago, I place another order for two bowls of SOUP THAT THEY PRE-MAKE BTW (bc their creamy chicken and wild rice absolutely GOES). I then drive here in a winter storm after the app notified me 20 minutes beforehand that my order was ready, only to have them tell me that they ran out of what I ordered WHILE THEY WERE BUILDING MY ORDER. THERE’S ALMOST NOBODY HERE ITS A WINTER STORM

WHAT???

Then they unceremoniously refunded me with two funky a* dollar bills when I payed with credit. Whoever refunded me seemed way more annoyed than *I was. Just set the funky bills on the counter then walked off without a word beyond “here you go” lol

Everything is getting annoyingly hectic in this restaurant and it is beyond limits of acceptable errors! They are always out of "main" ingredients like lettuce, tomatoea, cucumber, avocado and they give you half of the salad bowl with whatever green stuff can be tossed in! Do NOT even bother to go to there or place an order during lunch time because your lunch will not be served during your lunch time! Probably you can get it and eat it for dinner time because they are total failure in management and staffing side! They are always short on staff, and ingredients!!! I lost at least three lunch times and had to go back to my work without having a lunch because of their terrible management and poor service! My comment is not for the store staff, it is directly for the managers and headquarters! The staff is overworking and they are also desperately in need of help and better management!! It is sad to see my favorite restaurant is going down and becoming a food...
