The Silver Lining Creamery SD — Restaurant in Rapid City

Fantastic! This is a locally owned place in the heart of downtown Rapid City in Main Street Square. Most of the staff is young, but they are trained well and provide great customer service. They have a walk up window if you don't want to go inside (very limited seating) and you can sample some flavors before you purchase. They come up with some unique (unique to me anyway) flavors like Southern Bourbon Pecan, Sage, Lavender Honey, Rosewater and more. Their selections change frequently, so you want to be sure to visit them regularly so you don't miss out. You can have your ice cream in a dish or cone - regular and waffle and also select how many scoops you want. A variety of toppings to choose from if you wish and you can also purchase mason jar sundaes or purchase in pints, quarts or gallons. They also celebrate some fun days like National Ice Cream for Breakfast Day and also offer $1.00 ice cream cones when Main Street Square has an event like their weekly Movies Under the Stars event in the summer. This place is always a fun place to go to especially on those warm sunny days. They have a nice open outdoor seating area where you can enjoy your ice cream or sundae or whatever else it is that you got. You can customize your sundae and they have some cool stuff you can buy as well. They have shirts, little mason jar glasses you can buy, fun designed bowls, and a few other little things as well. The location is nice being where it is because you are right next to the open little park they have where, if you wanted to go play on the turf lawn they have, you can do so and enjoy your treat in between messing around. The staff has been great every time I have been there. They also have there little factory you can see where they make the cones and ice cream I believe that is behind glass which is also cool to look at while you are waiting in line. The Silver Lining Creamery is awesome! They have so many flavor options on rotation, so every visit has something new to try. They have samplers where you can get 4 or 6 mini scoops of whichever flavors you want to try if you can't decide. I love getting my ice cream in a chocolate dipped sprinkle waffle cone. They also have a freezer where you can get various sizes of ice cream already made up to bring home. We just bought a pint of Lavender honey ice cream and it is so good! My absolute favorite thing they had was the carrot cake milkshake. It was a milkshake with a whole piece of carrot cake in it. It was a limited time/seasonal thing, so they don't have it now, but hopefully it comes back!

The atmosphere of the place is also great. It is so fun to grab a treat in the summer and then walk around downtown. You can also sit outside and watch the fountains/ice rink.
