This place feeds the soul as well as the body. The food is fantastic, and it's all for a great cause. Anybody can get a lunch, regardless of ability to pay. If you can't afford to pay, you can trade work for meal. Volunteers can get actual on the job training while working for their meal, too. Did I mention that the food is first rate? There is a limited choice of rotating daily specials. Prices are based on how many items you order in addition to your choice of a main entree. Cost is very affordable; consider offering to buy a meal for someone else and you'll pay altogether about what you would pay for your own meal anywhere else.Hours are limited to lunch, but service is quick, so it's a good choice for grabbing a bite on your lunch hour. This place is truly amazing! The staff is so kind and courteous. If your hungry but don't have much money they offer "pay what you can". The food is so deliciously prepared and nicely presented and they treat everyone with dignity and respect no matter what their payment situation. I love the biscuit and gravy combo and the lasagna is hot and tasty. When I'm low on funds they are a good send for a hot meal but the service and food is so good that when I can afford to eat out I prefer to spend my money here to support their gracious cause. We've always had a good meal and a good conversation each time we come to Fork Real. Fork Real plays an important and integral part in our community, especially for those who have come into hard times and are struggling financially. I am a firm believer in community-focused action to help bring others up and Fork Real does just that. It is so nice to be able to purchase meal tokens for those who are down on their luck and I am hopeful that they will make their fundraising goal for a food truck to reach people who can't make it to their restaurant location.
