Dakota Meat Company - Burgers & Brews — Restaurant in Rapid City

I ate here on most days for lunch during my stay at the new Hyatt (5 min. walk). Parking is good except weekends. During the day it says you must pay but for afternoon pickup meals I didn’t get caught, haha. My favorite burger is the Badlands. It’s like a wagyu smash burger. Sauce is flavorful, meat is tender, and just enough bun. Get the combo. Solid lunch.

I tried a different burger but I don’t remember how it tasted. Must’ve been good though if I ate it that fast.

After that the kebobs were solid protein. I recommend ordering a double if you’re a guy. If you eat three you’ll get mad sleepy. These I seasoned with some steak seasonings I packed, but they were well cooked.

The French dip was chill. Bread is soft, meat is tender, dipping is good too. The menu online said you could pick your meat and have them cook it, but they don’t do that anymore. But I found the selection to be good enough...

It was okay. Honestly what they served I could have easily whipped up within 20 minutes in my own kitchen using ingredients from Walmart. The bun was dry but the Patty was okay. The food certainly wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing either. I think it's not something you should be paying their prices for. It was okay but if you want my honest opinion, save the money and make it at home. The employees were fantastic though and did a great job. Though I did notice one server/ the person who took hour order at the front, who kicked open a door and stomped around a little aggressively. Had a hankering for a burger this evening. Stumbled upon this new to us business. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly greeted and had any questions answered. We both went with a basic cheese burger and fries. Both the burger patty and the cheese stood out for texture and flavor. The sauce was very complimentary to the burger. The fries were lightly seasoned and crispy. Sadly, we learned the fries will be taking a hiatus due to kitchen limitations. After the meal, we had a great conversation with the owner.
