Im usually not one to write reviews but I had to on this one. My wife and I were going to stop next door at Golden Bowl and decided to come here instead. Walked in and were seated right away. Waiter asked what we would like to order before we had a chance to look at the menu. We ordered our drinks and received them a few minutes later- a bottled lemonade and a canned coke. We were given cups with no straws. We then asked for straws, twice and the waiter completely ignored us. We asked for napkins and the waiter said you have napkins right there and pointed at our utensils. I then grabbed the napkin dispenser from the table next to us. We were given our salad and (really) hard bread. When the waiter noticed we had the napkin dispenser on our table, she quickly grabbed it and took it away. We reminded her that we would like straws for our cups and some napkins and she said oh I forgot. She proceeded to walk away and answer the phone instead. She came back with our straws and 2 napkins. We hadn’t received our food yet and didn’t touch our salads. I decided this was not the establishment for my wife and I to spend our hard earned money at. We are truck drivers and visit New Jersey frequently, we try to give small local businesses a try but this one was not a good choice. I see the owner responding to reviews, instead of taking into consideration what the locals are saying. Also seen a reply on a review saying this is the reason why small business don’t stay business, but I don’t think it’s the reviews, it’s the service. This may also be the reason why the establishment was empty. Maybe take that time to improve the service at the establishment instead of...
Read moreUpdated yet again! Yesterday I found myself nearby during lunch time. And thought what the heck I enjoyed it last time n I’m here. So I was pleasantly surprised by teem offering Chicken Bacon Ranch slices. Recently this flavor has become a new favorite .. I have tried it at Napoli and Marinellis off rte 12. Now was a chance compare them to Angelo’s so here’s my thoughts .. each of these places have stand out slices. Angelo’s became my new favorite for a few reasons . I like the crunchy bacon aspect as well as the size price taste and atmosphere. So my new winner. Try to compare the 3 and let me know your favorite and why. Best to call and see if they offered it as these sell out quickly! I’m hooked maybe you will be too!
updates! I just went back to Angelo’s to have a slice and had a Bruschetta slice. The slice was a very decent size and was offered grated cheese and oregano, a rarity these days! ..I totally enjoyed it! Very flavorful..and I must say the girls behind the counter were very attentive and certainly appreciated by me. Some interesting dishes are offered and lots of pizza choices to choose from ! Here’s the Buffalo Chicken slice too, quite tangy .. for that I think Gabby’s shines a bit more. Plus the place is pleasant to eat in, and it’s kept very clean . Win, win! If you...
Read moreAngelo's is located along the busy Route 31 that goes right through Flemington. They have a medium sized parking area that is easy to get into and out of from the highway. They have a large indoor dining area that has a cozy atmosphere. I've tried both their standard pizza and their wood-fired pizza. The Brooklyn square slice I had was alright, but it was missing something. The crust and base were pleasantly crisp, but the sauce was slightly bitter. The plain slice was very cheesy. It featured a thin, crispy base with a decent crust and a juicy light sauce. One note is that the sauce has a slightly bitter/acidy taste when you get closer to the crust.
The wood-fired pizza is where Angelo's shines. I tried the Margherita Di Bufalo. It had a toasty base and a crisp crust that had a great fluffy interior. The cheese was a perfect creamy, milky flavor and the sauce was excellent. Overall it was a very good pie. My final comment is that the staff was so friendly and kind and made me feel very welcomed. Next time I return, I'm definitely going to try more of their...
