I’ve been going to this store for nearly 25 years. Most of the people are friendly, with a few exceptionally helpful. I’ve always had an issue with their short dated perishables as it seemed counter intuitive to buy a large portion of something that will spoil soon. Today was a first. While approaching the self checkout my path was blocked by a couple talking. As I got closer I realized it was two employees who let me by and continued their conversation. I went to the closest self checkout and while checking out I couldn’t help but hear the one sided conversation taking place only a few feet away. Apparently a supervisor was giving an employee an evaluation revue on the floor. Not just on the floor but right next to the checkout area. He kept repeating that the employees numbers were inconsistent and not on a par with other employees that he named. He told the employee that it wasn’t fair that she wasn’t carrying her share. Why any supervisor in any field would give review in the presence of customers is unimaginable. The only reason I could image was that the supervisor was afraid the employee would respond to his unprofessional treatment in an appropriate manner. Read moreAbsolutely absurd experience! Our membership had expired, which I had every intention of renewing... But didn't have the cash to do so today... and we needed an 18-pack of Pure Leaf tea... So, I went in and explained it to one of the associates up front, who seemed like he would be happy to help, and make a one-time courtesy exception for me... He asked a brunette, female associate to help him, and she said she would help me out, but she had another customer to attend to... And she asked me to give her a moment... Then, another female associate came up, and started asking me a million questions... And she said that no one would be able to help me, and ultimately, I would have to pay 20% more. I even told her that wasn't very consistent with what was previously told to me by the other 2 associates. Nothing. No apology. So I paid the $3.40 more for the 18-pack of Pure Leaf tea, as a surcharge for not being a member... And now, I am NOT going to renew my membership. I'll take my business over to Costco. I've spent thousands of dollars at BJ's over the years, and they want to bang me out for $3.40 more? Ok. You don't need me, I sure as hell don't need you... Not the least bit recommended to...
Read moreI placed an order online for a pick up (February 25, 2025). The order was brought to my vehicle and it appeared to be fine. However, when I got home I realized that the person who picked my order grabbed the oldest bread he or she could find. I also ordered 12 pack of Italian rolls which felt as if they were sitting on the shelf for days. I'm not sure if it is store policy to give online customers the oldest garbage they have but that was what I felt like when I got home. I live almost 40 minutes from the store therefore I did not return the 2 items. Now I am stuck with 2 loafs (double loaf package) of bread and a bag of rolls that are anything but fresh. Absolutely no thought of customer satisfaction what so ever. The person who picked the order provided piss poor service at best. Would not recommend this store at all. When you are spending your hard earned income as well as membership fees, you deserve better than this. I recommend that you use Sam's Club or Costco. Never received anything but fresh items with either store when ordering...
