I work part-time on audits (think secret shopper) of various retail outlets and chain restaurants, which gives me particular perspective to evaluate different franchises and compare them to others. And because I visit a lot of establishments, I don’t often leave many public reviews. However, when some experiences are far better, or far worse, than average, I feel compelled to let other consumers know about it in an effort to better inform them—good or bad—of their prospective choices when they spend their money. This McDonald’s was particularly substandard, and I suspect it’s isolation (the next McDonalds north along he highway is a very long drive) causes them to not strive for quality in their food or service. During my experience, the wait at the drive thru line was oppressively slow and tedious—compared to the average expected McDs wait time. A chicken sandwich ordered with no pickles correctly came to me without pickle. But nevertheless tasted overwhelming like pickle, since obviously they just opened up the bun and l picked off the pickle that had been marinating on it for quite some time. It must have been a while, considering the bun was stale and chicken hard. At least the pickle taste I was trying to avoid helped overpower the taste of exhaust in my throat which had been firmly engrossed during my eternity waiting on the drive thru line. I was hoping that an ice cream treat would help salvage my experience and allow me to leave in a pleasant mood, but predictable as the sunrise, their ice cream machine couldn’t make the particular seasonal dessert menu item that I ordered, the one that was all over the advertisements on the display...
Read moreNear the soda refill machine is always a foul smell. They need to clean with clorox. U need to tell them them, "I need all condoments" or else they won't ask or supply u with any. Same thing if u eat in. They come and rudly deliver ur meals, but won't ask if there is anything else, like ketchup. Never served not even with fries. They used to deliver the meals with a tray full of condiments and napkins, what happened, they don't provide that edicate anymore. And they quickly leave before ur given a moment to inspect what's needed, then they get annoyed with me, because i then stand at the front desk asking for ketchup. u have to get up and walk all the way to the front and ask for ketchup. I wish they had a register in the play area, so we could keep an eye on our kids while ordering. Because up front, u could stand there up to 30 minutes waiting ur turn to order. Ive tries the self serve register machines, but they always ask me for a stupid code to place my order, I don't get it. And I don't want to ask because they get annoyed if u ask...
Read moreAfter a long day of shopping in Harlingen, I like to bring easy dinner home. And I’ve loved McDonalds growing up. But this McDonalds always makes mistakes, and I understand a couple of times but there is always an issue. Today’s problem is about burgers. I bought the meal where you get 4 burgers, 20 chicken nuggets and a basket of fries and then I bought 1 one basket of fries because I love McDonald’s fries. Then once I finally got home and was having dinner with my family (btw I live 45 minutes away in a tiny town called port Mansfield), i asked for my burgers to be plain with only meat, cheese and mustard ONLY, and on the ticket, it says that also. But no, as soon as I opened to make sure they actually did it correctly, there were onions!! What would have happened if I just went ahead and took a bite and I was actually allergic to onions? Make sure y’all actually read the tickets and don’t get in a rush, if you can’t work fast food and make orders right then it’s not the correct...
