Johnny's Tavern Raymore — Restaurant in Raymore

I've been here multiple times now, ordering various things, during various times and one thing that's been constantly an issue is service time. I havent been here for awhile though. Staff has been friendly and the foods been great but when it comes to getting timely service, I must always draw the short straw.

I'll use today as key issue, came in for lunch and strongly understand short staffed after a major holiday, so we kept out orders simple (two salads and simple app with waters). I ran out of water long before food ever came out and never had a refill. Waitress came by multiple times stating food should be out shortly and she would check. I stayed friendly and calm over it, then our app came out and who I believe was manager stating our salads should be out shortly. It wasn't very shortly. When waitress came by we asked for extra ranch, and she came out with one and handed it to another table. At this time we watched 3-4 other groups coming in after us receive their orders and even the table next to us received food after we ordered 10 minutes prior.

our order was two salads with an app, nothing over complicated outside removing some ingredients from one, but nothing to cook or warm up. We were on the verge of just asking for the bill so we could get back to work, but just as I seen our waitress she had our food and food of those next to us that order long after us.

I did express my concerns and disapproval over the time as we are on our work lunch break but was just told it's busy and everything was done in order it was received, which drove further question how those around us got food before or same time as us knowing others came in even before some that got it same time.

Again, I get type of order, complicated orders, apps, staffing, etc, but I just like being somewhere and receiving service. I never even got a refill of just water.

Our waitress was running all over and hosting at the same time, and did feel the stressors of that having worked food for numerous years myself, but my judgement comes from service received and quality of product.

Food was great, service was lacking. Seems to be a reoccurring issue for me, but it's the food that does drive me to return and figured it appeared like a time to catch a quick meal, but it was roughly over 40 minutes from sitting to...

Super disappointed in this business. Especially with them still being newer to the area. I planned an event for a month and half in advance for both of the party rooms. It was scheduled and verified and I was told they would call closer to date of the party to make sure everything was the same. I even told them if anyone backed out I would notify them ASAP so I wouldn't use both private rooms. I scheduled this event on 01/04 and sent out invitations and had everything ready to go for our party. I received a call/voicemail on 01/24 at 7:45pm from the woman I had scheduled our party with informing me there was a conflict in scheduling and the OWNER had scheduled an event for that same night so I needed to move my time of the party to accommodate for the other party that was coming in. My event was for 5pm and they wanted our party out by 7pm (6:30-6:45 so they could prepare for the other party) or to move to an earlier time, which didn't work with my schedule, hence why it was planned for 5pm.

When I called the next morning to figure out what was going on I was informed by the "real person" who actually schedules those events and told exactly what I said above. Even after explaining that I had already sent out invitations and this was planned well in advance so something like this wouldn't happen. I was told that the original woman who scheduled my party told her manager she had called me the next day after I scheduled to inform me of this conflict. I explained to her if that was the case, why did she have her call me the night prior at almost 8pm to inform me and I have a voice-mail to confirm. She ended up giving the girl who originally scheduled my party the phone where in fact, She did admit that she didn't call me the night after the reservation to cancel my party. She did apologize but nothing more was offered and I was left finding a new place to have my diaper party with little time with the amount of people invited. There was no accommodating for us whatsoever. It was simply "sorry" and your pretty much on your own if you can't come earlier. I don't think this was a mistake. I feel like they tried to cram another party in to their night and double their money thinking it would work. Unfortunately for...

My husband and I went there to eat on a Saturday evening. They were not busy. In fact, when we walked in, a group of staff was standing around the host stand, chatting it up. They looked at us like we had interrupted their good time. They said hi but then just stood there looking at us. I had to tell them we had 2, and then they figured out where to seat us. We sat and waited and waited and waited. No one came to the table to take our drink orders, and no one acknowledged us even though 2 staff members walked by us several times avoiding eye contact. Most of the staff was again huddled around the host stand, laughing and playing around. I am all for having fun at work, but when you have just seated customers, you would think they would be making sure they were being helped. Then we watched as a table of 6 was sat, and within a few minutes of sitting, their drink orders were being taken. By one of the servers who had been avoiding eye contact with us. It had been over 10 mins at this point, I am starving, so I said, "Let's go." As we were walking out, the group of staff around the host stand was still there, and said, "Thanks for coming." I responded with, "Thanks for what, we were never waited on." I kept walking, but my husband said they just all looked wide-eyed. No, sorry, nothing. This hasn't been the first time my husband and I were left sitting with no service for at least 10 minutes or more.
