Never eaten Columbian food before, I was sooo thankful that a somewhat younger couple came in who are originally from Columbia, actually from a coffee growing family. We asked them their recommendations and it was amazing. It was a combination of chorizo, flank steak, plantains, a delicious large portion of pork belly, rice and an egg on top, it was incredible. It's in the picture of the menu. We took a picture of it to remember the next time we're in town. We also had a wonderful appetizer. We were able to split both plates and were stuffed. It was an amazing experience. Or couple we met said that the wall that was there that apparently was recently made truly looks just like the outside of a home looks like. You can see it in the picture of my love and I that they took for us. Our sweet waitress and possibly many of the staff didn't seem to know English to well but the descriptions on the menu were of great help, along with a dear couple who truly knew. I can't recommend Café de Columbia highly enough. We've got another concert in a few months and that's the first thing my fiance said, well you know where we're eating 😃

Propaganda can be effective until you arrive at this place. Customer service socks depending of clients' appearance. This morning, i stopped by quick to get coffee with my cousin who stopped by from NJ and wants us to get coffee before he kept driving. Besides their expensive prices, The cashier lady had the nastiest passive aggressive attitude. She couldn't even tell us what the shakes they had available but she sent us to read the menu. She was very passionate about the size of our coffee even though my cuz told her "this size" pointing at a cup they had displayed. I asked for coffee with creamer and she did not add a drop of creamer to that coffee. She was not engaging or welcoming at all. Surprisingly, i noticed how a white lady professionally dressed came in to order a coffe and the cashier's attitude was completely different towards this client. It is a shame this people perpetuate this kind of behavior within their own community. I do NOT recommend this place.

WORST experience ever on a Colombian place , The owner doesn’t have an idea what a costumer service mean , she literally throw myself out with her bad attitude , I was on a Middle of working and I went for lunch , I had an importan phone call , I couldn’t used my AirPods it wasn’t charged, I decide to use the speaker with a low volume, than she approach me and literally told “ cancel the speaker “ with attitude I looked around, was only my on the place , it means I was not disturbing anybody, so I step out to continue with my phone call and I requested “ please can you make it to go” and she just grab a container and dumped on the table , again with bad attitude…. When my phone call ended I went inside and decided just to ask for the check ( without eating my meal) and she just took my payment like if nothing happened , without say any word or any excuse , only with attitude ….. wish her luck !!!

I’m sad I have to write this review but I would hope the restaurant takes this as an opportunity to improve. I grabbed some takeout yesterday for lunch on their grand opening day. My order: Carne Asada w/ rice, tostones, & 2 beef empanadas Pollo a la plancha w/ rice, yuca frita, maduros, and ensalada

The restaurant was not packed when I arrived so I assumed I would get my food pretty quickly. It took about 45 minutes to get my food which is more than what I wanted to take for my lunch break on a Wednesday afternoon, plus I still had to drive home and eat it. Upon opening my food, it already didn’t look very appetizing.

My fiancée had the carne asada dish which she described as “overcooked, dry, and flavorless”. She had to get some sort of sauce to put on top of it otherwise it would’ve been “unbearable”. She also said the beef empanadas were not great. I had the pollo a la plancha which was not the best either. The chicken was dry and tough to chew, it didn’t have much flavor. I also wish there were some juices from the meat to eat with the rice. The yuca frita were so dry, they crumbled as I tried to eat them. The maduros were not ready when they were cooked as they weren’t sweet enough.

Overall I wish I could’ve given this small business a raving review but unfortunately both orders were not good. Unfortunately I will be moving away from Reading so I won’t have the chance to try them again any time soon, but I do hope to come back and...
