Old San Juan Cafe — Restaurant in Reading

The only thing I can say about this place is that the prices are a bit expensive. But I don’t understand why people are saying it’s not Puerto Rican food and blah blah blah. Because it’s literally the cleanest place in the city to get Puerto Rican food and it’s the best Puerto Rican food in the city. The meat is never dry. The rice is never overcooked or undercooked. The pastilles are actually STUFFED. Like I literally just traded my brother two of them so he could put brakes and rotors on my car🤣🤣. And the only reason I’m writing this review is because my brother asked where I got them because once again, it’s hard to find good Puerto Rican food. And I go on here and I see all these people talking about. It’s not authentic Puerto Rican food it’s not this blah blah blah. And it’s probably people they go to places like Casa de la Chimi or nasty, dirty 4th and Penn st. Yes, it’s more expensive but everywhere else I tried Spanish food at was literally garbage. Please dont not spend your money at this restauraunt. The owner of this store is a controlling munipulative theif! He stole my daughter from me when I was 15 because he had the money and power to do so. Just to raise her to be a broken person. He has contributed to my daughters drug usage and mental abuse leaving her to cut and want to commit suicide. The truth will finally be told Mr. Rodriguez. He has used the money his costumers pay to take a child from its mother just to say he WON! Please I beg you not to contribute any longer to people who are purposely destroying other peoples lives. Went in today around 1:30 for lunch & immediately was hit with the smell of good food. I ordered the Sancocho with white rice and sweet plantains with a bacalaitos. Everything tasted amazing only small complaint would be i wish the sancocho had root vegetables (name, malanga, batata, etc) And the bacalaitos were different from what i’m used to. Typically in puerto rico they are skinny & crispy other than the food tasted very seasoned & fresh. The place was clean and the atmosphere was friendly, felt right at home. the staff were more than beyond helpful & generous with the portions! They also have pastry window, i managed to grab the guava & cream cake it was delightful! They have an assortments of drinks also, Would recommend & i’ll be back soon! Thanks...
