Perfecto's Caffe — Restaurant in Reading

Normally I love this place and would alway give 5 stars, I have nothing but great things to say and recommend this place to everyone (Reading location), and have been treated with nothing but kindness every time I walk through the doors. I have been going to the Peabody location for many years. However, today the woman that was making the food orders looked visibly annoyed with us before we even spoke. (Taller older woman, piercing on her neck), she rolled her eyes after my fiancé ordered his bagel.. it was a pretty simple, jalapeño bagel with bacon cream cheese, just visibly poor attitude with her service. I wanted to order something else to eat but after she walked away I went to the kind, short woman at the register and she happily helped me. I understand everyone on this earth is facing a battle, but it’s important to leave anything going on outside of work outside of work. I’m not quite sure what her issue was with us, or why she was annoyed, however it showed all over her facial expressions, and her attitude. I’ve worked in customer service for most of my lifetime.. have dealt with awful things before having to go to work, but whatever is going on in my life.. I am not a coffee drinker, but it was necessary for me to go to Perfecto Caffe. I had a quick meeting that was planned to take place at the Starbucks in town. It was closed! The reason: staffing. Well that is what was posted on their doors. Perfecto was directly across the street. First thing that is noticeable is how bright it looks inside the shop. The doors and windows were clear as glass should be. Inside I walked on a clean looking floor of tile. The que was clearly labeled to direct one to get served efficiently. As for service, I saw a person at each of the stations that should be staffed. The girls, yes they were real girls working! They did not give any hints of pretentiousness. I saw warm, friendly girls enthusiastically engaged. I had to make use of the rest room. Each were properly labeled MEN, WOMEN. Inside the MEN'S room 🚹 was clean, stocked and tastefully decorated. They even had a think towel under the soap dispenser to catch any drips to the floor. When I had to order, the girls paid attention to prepare what I was asking for. I would give 5 stars, but.....Let me start by saying the bagels, and anything else I've eaten here are excellent. Coffee is also very good to excellent. The place is always sparkling clean. The staff is very friendly, nobody is sitting around, they are all working. What is annoying is the line system. You have to go to one line, and order your food, and then to pay, you have to go to a second line. Today, I was 5th in line at the bagel/sandwich line, I waited- not unreasonably long, gave my order, and then there was a big line at the coffee counter- which you can't avoid because that is where you pay. Both the person behind me, and the person in front of me were also complaining about this. They need to fix this. The staff is efficient, but still waiting twice is...
