Hopkins Baking Company — Restaurant in Readington Township

It’s not too often one finds a bakery that uses only organic ingredients in all of their baked products so when I stumbled upon Hopkins Baking Company while Googling “bakeries near me,” which they are not 🤷🏻‍♀️, my heart was all a flutter! This may seem trivial and unimportant to most people, but it’s quite the contrary to me. We have to be our own best advocate when it comes to the food we ingest; that’s where organic ingredients play an integral role in our everyday lives. In other words, it’s essential that we make them a top priority during our grocery shopping journey. That said, I ordered a birthday cake for my son’s 24th birthday from Hopkins Baking Company. My experience with Vickey and Ken, the proprietors, from start to finish was extremely pleasurable. They’re cordial, professional and have honed their craft. Suffice it to say, my son and I enjoyed every morsel of the 3-layer “Birthday Cake 😋😋😋.” It was just the right amount of sweetness for our palates. Stumbled on this place on a random Friday afternoon- the owner (?) helped me and described the cheesecake cups in a way that obviously made me buy two, in addition to cupcakes.

We had a lovely conversation, and when I got home I realized I had been there just a few minutes before closing. But you never would have known- when I was actually in the bakery, I felt like I was walking into a neighbor’s house for a cup of coffee and a treat. Really great atmosphere, absolutely delicious cheesecake cups. Sorry I didn’t come here sooner but it’s going to be my go-to “treat yourself” spot.

Delicious looking bread, cookies, and scones were all available in addition to the things I purchased.

I can’t say enough great things about Hopkins! Vickey was so pleasant and accommodating when I was arranging a dessert order for my one-yr old’s birthday. Our guests (ages 1 - 72) LOVED the cupcakes (vanilla, chocolate stuffed with ganache and carrot cake), cookies (triple chipper), and cinnamon rolls (the “minis” were huge!). Not only were they delicious but it’s so relieving to be able to provide desserts with CLEAN ingredients. I feel really lucky to have found a great organic bakery near by!
