I'm visiting California from Texas, and I would say the price for the amount of food provided is a bit high; and if you want to add extras, like bacon or cheese, you will pay for it. However, these burgers and ingredients are fresh and everything is cooked to order. So depending in how much you value fresh food, it might be worth it. I ordered the Regular Burger meal and added bacon and American cheese and paid close to $12. The meal did come with fries and a drink.
The fries were fresh, and perfectly salted. I'm a huge fan of perfectly salted fries, and I can honestly say that they know what they are doing.
The gentlemen behind the counter seemed to be doing almost everything from taking orders, cooking meals, cleaning/clearing tables, and walking the food to the customers. I was very impressed by him. He was also kind and attentive.
The restaurant building itself is rather small, with limited seating during the busiest hours. There are roughly 6 places to sit at the counter, 4 two-person booths inside, and 3 large 6-8 people tables outside at the front of the building. So if you're not taking to-go, you might want to plan around busy hours. Otherwise, you can bunk up on an outside table with others!
All in all, I have a co-worker that will be here next week that I will be bringing here for an old-fashioned burger. So I would absolutely...
Read moreI have been coming here for years. The hamburgers are good, but they are charging an additional 3% pass through fee if you use your credit card. When the nice young woman working the counter told me how much my order was I handed her my credit card for our large order. when she asked me to sign the receipt that came out of the card reader (I can't think of another place off the top of my head where I have to physically sign a receipt except here) and the price on the receipt was different that what she told me the total was when she rang up our order. I questioned it and she pointed to a sign that said they are going to charge 3% if I didn't use cash. I was tempted to have her cancel and reverse the credit card and simply pay cash, but she was a nice young woman and I didn't want to have her going through all that, so I just signed the receipt and paid the charge. If a hole in the wall restaurant, or any business for that matter wants to charge the customer a pass through business expense they should clearly tell that to the customer........ there will be an additional credit card pass through charge. I'm tired of businesses not telling me that there will be an additional charge until after the charge has been run through. Just tell me there is going to be a charge when I hand you my card and I will pull...
Read moreWe came there with 2 kids with our RV with 4 hours drive ahead of us. Wanted to make sure the kids are good for the drive. Wr have a small (18 lbs.) service dog. As we walked in, we were gritted with "DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED HERE". I explained to them that he is a SERVICE DOG with an ID and legally he can go anywhere I go by a Federal law. I showed them his ID. They said that they have their own rules and because of the "air circulation" (!!!!!!) he is not allowed and they will not service us. They said that we can only get service outside (it was 105 F outside that day...). We placed a small order just for the kids (didn't feel like giving them my money) and even though we set by a table, the placed a paper bag with the food on the table and walked back in. Didn't even bother to give us plates. The burgers ware dry and according to my kids "worse then McDonald's".... The fries ware decent. The point is, there is a law. They are not above the federal law. If a police officer will pull them for speeding, they can't tell him that "they have their own rules". We as a society should not support such behavior and we should not enter this restaurant. I'll never return...
