We used to love coming to this place. But lately, the service has been TERRIBLE!!! This is not a cheap place to eat. Therefore, I expect good service. But when a server tells me that they don't have ranch, buffalo sauce or tiger sauce.... Just then, a person walks by with trays full ... Something is wrong! And yes.... She lied to us. We ended up asking a really nice guy behind the bar and sure enough ...he said they had more than plenty.... will you look at that, a fridge full. We were also told that we couldn't use the forks because those are for customers who purchased a salad. Since when? We're regulars, and we've used forks every time we come. Their has never been a sign stating this. Furthermore, in the 20+ years that we have been going to ANY Shakey's, we've never been told this.
SAVED THE BEST FOR LAST.
I MUST have my beer when I'm eating here. It's the PERFECT mix. Now, once again, we're regulars here, and we pretty much can recognize faces and who goes where, what. The lady behind the bar, whom I have purchased beer from before, asked to see my ID after I had already paid for it. Unfortunately, it had just expired and said she couldn't sell it to me. And I get it. I wouldn't want them getting into any trouble with the law. Therefore, I asked my daughter-in-law (who was right next to me the entire time) to please use her ID (she's 26ish). That lady was so out of line. Awfully disrespectful and rude. She threw her ID back and started going off ... yelling ... that she couldn't give her the pitcher because she didn't pay for it and blah blah blah blah blah. Come on!!! Really?!? We have the receipt in hand and she heard me asking my daughter-in-law to please show her her ID. FINALLY, another worker intervened and it was decided that it was ok to give my daughter-in-law the pitcher. Oh the embarrassment. She then proceeded to pour the cheapest beer when I had paid for a Heine. She wouldn't give us the Heine that I had asked for! I had to take out my wallet and this time she "couldn't take the money from me". So I had to put it in my dl's hand so that she could pay for a second pitcher! Was this a prank? Were all of them in on it? I was hoping so. I truly was. And we chose to go back again the following weekend as we're accustomed. Bad choice. Starting from the manager all the way down to the person cleaning. We've always given each person that tends to us a good tip.... Nothing under $10. For this?
The one employee that I can truly say goes out of his way for EVERYONE is Paco. He always has a "Can do" attitude. Why is he not the manager? Employees are a reflection of...
Read moreThe food is great - best pizza ever . I’ve been going to Shakeys my whole life. I would put 5 stars but I couldn’t believe the disrespect, rudeness and lack of professionalism from the 2 female employees in the arcade area. The older female is usually their working behind the counter assisting with prizes. I’ve encountered her at least 5 times and not once has she smiled. It’s like I’m bothering her when I ask for help when a game eats my money or tickets are not dispensing. Secondly, the younger female employee was a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! I couldn’t believe my eyes when she was giving HANDFULS of TOKENS to her boyfriend/group of friends when I shelled out at least 60 bucks for my daughter to play! Not once did the group go to the token machine. Though, they had endless tokens. What ticked me off the most was that she had no shame doing it. She was in uniform taking pictures of herself with 5 other guys and playing games. She did not come to help with a machine when I asked and totally ignored me. I’ve never seen this in my life and I can’t believe Shakeys is employing people like this. I let the older woman know and it seemed like they were family members because she scolded her but the teen continued to hang out and play with her friends. Get it together Shakeys and hire professional people. The lack of service very well might be the reason why I don’t return . My visit was on August 7 around 9pm. My birthday here was not so great...
Read moreMy overall experience with Shakey's was it was okay the facility in Redlands is just way too small the place was so crowded you could barely move and then they didn't have enough tables no waiting area you would have to stand in the doorway until people left and then you had several people rushing to an empty table to claim it. They need to add on to the building and make it a lot more roomy or find another larger facility. The food was good especially the chucken tenders, the Mojo potatoes were good. The atmosphere was pleasant just way way too noisy in there you couldn't communicate with whomever you were there with because of the background noise from all the other people the arcade has plenty of room. The kids enjoyed themselves, the service was good, they came around often to clear clear your table of empty dishes. They don't have table service you order at the counter and then they deliver it to your table, so my overall impression of Shakey's after many many years it's okay has a good time. The food was good, the staff was great, the building is just way too small and with the amount of people that now go out to eat compared to years ago. I will go again, because my grandson loves the place and if it makes him happy...
