Sno Cap Drive In is a wonderful flashback to a time that is long gone (at least for me)… I am visiting Redmond, OR, house and puppy sitting, while members of my family are in Europe and I was looking for a place to have a Good Burger. I looked up best burgers and Sno Cap came up. Now, I remember that there were “Sno Cap Drive Ins” in Santa Cruz, CA when I was growing up there but that was A Long time ago and I haven’t seen a good old fashioned Drive In in my area in decades! So, I was happy when I went to “Sno Cap”. The place has the charm of an old time Drive In and it has the feel of a family run business. The two high school age girls that took my order were friendly and obviously local because several of the other customers seemed to know them. It was just a very friendly family atmosphere in the diner. I ordered the Double Deluxe Cheese Burger with fries and it was delicious (compliments to the lady chef, working the kitchen area!) The Burger was Huge, cooked to perfection and nice and messy! The patties were juicy and lots of cheese covered both of them! The condiments of ketchup, mayonnaise, tomato, pickles and onion were expertly applied to the large sesame seeds bun and all came together to make one of the best burgers I’ve ever had in A Long Time! And the order of fries that came along with the burger were crispy and delicious. They are the same size fry as a McDonalds fry but Sno Caps fries are fresh, crispy, not soggy and dry like they’ve been sitting around under a heat lamp. Sno Cap’s fries are made to order, so they are piping hot, lightly salted, crisp, crunchy and not greasy! What can I say, other than, I am now A Fan of the Sno Cap Drive In! They are a Great Place and a wonderful example of what Really Good Hamburger Places Used to be and what they Should Still Be! Let Me Tell You, I’m jealous Redmond, OR, yeah, they have In N Out Burger in California But Oregon has Sno Cap, which is So...
Read moreI've been coming here for over a decade and unfortunately... I was really disappointed... My family and I came here for the Sno Cap experience.. Great food, great service. That was not the case this time. The food was good but not what it once was. The service was quick.. Too quick. We were rushed out of the restaurant. We were so excited after a year of no dining in, to go eat in somewhere and we chose Sno Cap. But it was upsetting. We got our food and it wasn't very filling so my husband wanted another burger which without asking, the servers decided to make it to-go which we didn't want. Then they kept asking over and over again if we were finished and rushed us out. They may as well have just taken our food out of our hands and held the door open for us. I don't know why it's like that now but something has to change. I've never tipped that low in my life but I couldn't bring myself to tip more when Sno Cap has been a standard for a family dining experience most of my life and it's gone downhill, bad.. I'm not sure I'll...
Read moreI came in with my mom, who was in a wheelchair. They were totally full even though it was around 3:00pm. They let us have the one open table, the big corner booth, and were very accommodating. The food was great, in particular the fish and chips. It tasted like the cod was freshly battered to order.
The biggest reason for the review is how nice all the young people are who work there. We interacted with the early staff as well as the kids who came on to work the night shift. It's really rare these days, unfortunately, to walk into an establishment with all teenage/early 20's employees and have every of them be very polite, present with their eye contact and conversation, and to see all of them clearly hustling, with smiles on their faces. I didn't see any of them bring out their cell phone or slack off the entire time we were there. All I can say is kudos to all their parents for raising them with small town work ethic and manners. We hadn't been to Sno Cap in over 20 years, but we'll...
