This place was awful, seemed like a bunch of special needs kids running the place and THAT would be an upgrade. The menu is the first clue that this place is cheap and classless--a menu with multiple staples (photo 1). Started off with appetizers (samosas and spinach pakora) that was served COLD. We were hungry and ate it anyway and told the waiter who said it was all "pre-made in advance" ?? Before we ordered we asked if the samosas were spicy because we have dietary concerns and didn't want over-saltly or spicy, then after we ordered our entrees. Chicken Tikki, Garlic Naan, Dal Tadka (lentils), and yogurt. The Chicken Tikki was served alone with nothing else and was extremely salty & spicy (it would have been nice if waitress forewarned us since the topic came up before). My friend took one bite of chicken and said "you eat it, I can't" but I could barely tolerate it either, felt like my mouth was on fire. We waited for the rest of meal and finally got up and asked TWICE where the lentils, naan, and yogurt was. This was a meal, why are you serving it separately? After the Chicken Tikka was served we waited 15 MINUTES for the rest of the dinner to be served!! By then the Tikka is COLD! After lentils and bread we were still missing the yogurt and asked numnuts (a male waiter, since female was MIA) and got the deer in headlight look (what yogurt)?? Ten minutes later he brings us a tiny dixie cup (as in photo 2), and says "we didn't charge you for the yogurt". (Oh geee, thanks!! Like he was doing us some big favor. 🙄). At the end of meal we asked for tinfoil to take home the naan bread and THAT took another 10 minutes!! Bottom line (and we are not prima donnas): for $100 dinner we expect the basics, decent food and waiters that are attentive and CARE about their customers and food. We will never return to this low class place, I'm truly embarrassed for them and I don't think they'll be in business much longer because the place wasn't even that busy on a Saturday night. 👎 FYI, we brought our own bottle and the corkage fee was $20. Parking was plentiful (empty) and free (probably the only positive).

I am not a local to this area but was willing to drive 50 miles to catch up with a good old friend and we decided to pick an Indian Place for our meet , since this was a newly opened Indian restaurant, we decided to try it out . It was one of the best dine in experiences, I have ever had in recent years for an Indian place . The ambience is retro, but the seating is extremely comfortable and being at a walking distance to Redondo beach is added bonus , we picked a location by the window to enjoy a meal as life passes by on the other side . We ordered Chicken Tandoor half plate , Mango Lassi , Garlic Nan, Chicken Tikka Masala and Copper Pot Chicken Biriyani chef’s special. Let me start with Chicken Tandoori the half plate presentation was fabulous and the quantity for half plate was more than enough for the two of us and it tasted delightful and tempering of spice was just appropriate for all palates to accommodate . The chicken Tikka masala was out of this world the sauce was fabulous with a buttery after taste we enjoyed it with the garlic naan which of course was as soft as it could get . Then we dug, into our final course of Copper Pot Chicken Biriyani the flavors just erupted in our mouth and was an awesome finale to our meal . I would highly recommend this place for anyone to try out and I for one am going to make that drive occasionally to enjoy this blissful cuisine and to add the service was above par. I also understand it is a woman lead place, kudos to her and the chef along with her support team for setting up such a fantastic dining experience .

I ordered my food to go. This was my first time trying this place, I've been craving Indian and I was excited because it's close to my house. Unfortunately my experience wasn't great. I ordered the lunch special which included saag paneer, basmati rice, a piece of naan, a house salad and a house dessert + 2 onion samosas (for an extra fee of $3) I received the veg byrani rice instead of the plain basmati I ordered (I have a 10 month old who I was going to share with) which was fine tasting, but there was a particular spice I wasn't a fan of (hence the reason I ordered the regular basmati rice) This was a huge portion- almost feel like the rice and saag sections should be switched. I only received 1 onion samosa which tasted really good, but I wish I got the 2 that I paid for. The saag was okay. I saw another comment that said a lot of spice and no flavor which I feel is an accurate description for what I got. It was more like a spinach purée than the typical saag where you can see/ feel the pieces of spinach. The salad was really flavorful and I enjoyed it, the big raw chunks of raw red onion was a bit overwhelming, but can be picked out easily. Naan was good. Dessert looks like mashed banana with a cashew or two sprinkled on top. Tasty, but nothing special. My total was $32 + tip which is incredibly expensive for what I received. I really wanted to love it, but unfortunately I don't. Kind of glad I ordered to-go and didn't do the lunch buffet like I wanted to.

2024 UPDATED REVIEW - Had to lower my review 2 stars because of a recent experience. I am a loyal customer, but apparently if you come on a day they have a buffet, you get no service, your orders don't matter, and you don't get treated well.

I ordered something a la carte and it was very clear that they just scooped food from the buffet and presented it to my party and I like they'd just made it, as if we couldn't tell.

There was also a very snooty woman there last Sunday 3/24. We asked her for something mild and it wasn't made mild for me like it always is. When I commented on this, instead of apologizing or having it remade, she condescendingly said if I can't take the spice of the dish (my FAVORITE dish that I have ORDERED EVERY TIME I've eaten there since the restaurant opened) that I should try a more basic, plainer item on the menu. What and insulting person. And also, kind of a lazy one. I saw her multiple times watching other employees clean as if they needed her supervising/staring at them vs. attending to customers trying to get her attention.

I will never go back there for lunch if they are serving a buffet, and if I even see that woman there, I will turn around and get back in the car to try another Indian restaurant up the street.

2023 REVIEW -

This is the best Indian restaurant in the South Bay, and that I've ever eaten at in general. Whether you're a long-time Indian food lover or are new to the Indian food party, this place has something to suit your tastes. A diverse and rich array of options, an attentive and fast-moving staff (shout out to Hruday Ranjan who is awesome!), and a nice, family-friendly atmosphere. This place has it all.

TWO FAVORITE DISHES:

The Copper Pot Chicken Biryani is a must try! Crazy-delicious, super moist chicken (and an abundant serving of it compared to the rice ratio), and tasty sauce. You can get it normal or mild.

I would also recommend the veggie samosas. I'm a meat-eater, but these are just better than the lamb samosas. So hot, crispy, and served with two equally great sauces. It's the perfect appetizer.

I've had these memorable dishes in person and for takeout, and the consistency is something to...

Really appalled at the poor service at Copper pot. We had a reservation but waited for nearly 30 mins to be seated. We ordered drinks and food when the server finally appeared (more delay). The food came but there was no sign of our drinks. We reminded our server twice. We decided to cancel the drinks order halfway through our meal but the manager/ owner running the show kept ignoring our frantic waves. Finally one of the staff stopped by and said he'll tell them to cancel the drinks order.

The drinks came after we had finished the meal! We told the server that we had asked them to be canceled. He went back and brought them over again. We refused to accept the drinks.. we didn't want to hit the road just after rushing through a glass of wine!

Then there was so sign of the bill so we went over to the counter where we were given a bill with the drinks included! We explained what had happened to which he said something about everyone getting delayed and that this was company policy! My husband and I asked to speak with the manager/ owner.

Finally after 10 mins or so the manager/ owner stopped by. This was the worst part of our experience. There was no sign of apology for the inconvenience but with some arrogance she demanded that we pay for the entire order. She was also more interested in playing the blame game and creating drama. I was shocked at how low they were ready to stoop just to get us to pay for the drinks which we hadn't had. Never has anything like this ever happened.

She then resorted to saying this was company policy and once a bottle is opened and charged, they can't cancel it. (Well, in that case, open them and bring them over sooner!) Finally after a heated discussion, the manager/ owner decided to take off the drinks.

We were there with our old parents and young daughter. Needless to say, our mother's day ended really poorly. We won't ever go back to this restaurant and would suggest going to any other Indian restaurant than this one because they lacked...
