This place is its name and I couldn’t be happier that I stopped to grab a bite here. Open the door slowly in case someone is sitting in one of those seats at the horseshoe shaped counter immediately (literally) when you step inside. I ordered the corn beef hash, scrambled eggs, hash browns (cooked to perfection) and sourdough toast. I was in the area to pick up an item I purchased online so I searched Google Maps for a good spot to eat to make the trip worthwhile. I read a few reviews and looked at a few of the pictures and saw how they cook their hash browns and knew I would like everything about this place, and I do. I’m so tired of all these other places who practically burn their hash browns till they’re hard and crunchy on the outside and somehow virtually uncooked on the inside. Everywhere else you go, they charge 50% more than they did a few months ago. The prices at the Cozy Cafe are more than reasonable. I was so grateful for the fresh quality food, I tipped well and still felt like they deserved more. I’ll tip more when I come back. I will come back here for the hash browns alone and be thrilled by the genuine caring service and overall wholesome nature of this place. If you’re not interested in sitting next to strangers, they have a couple of tables outside with canopies to offer shade. They’re right on PCH near Torrance Blvd. I parked on Torrance just around the corner and walked over. I can hardly...
Read moreFound a local gem this morning! Cannot rave enough about this true “cozy” cafe. On the outside, which is being painted, it may not look like much, but it has a charm that breaks through the generic, modernistic, and want to be boutique eateries of the area. What others are trying to convey The Cozy Cafe brings to you on a plate with home style meals.
The iconic mix of Greek-Hispanic flair made famous by California literary great Victor Villasenor resonates in this establishment!
In the center of all the “fluff” of touristy Rendondo Beach fare, sit down at the horseshoe style countertop and have a great cup of Joe, good enough for any dock worker or fisherman. Order the Huevos Rancheros and be served a large plate of eggs, papas with onions, and a “Spanish sauce” that has a Mediterranean flair! Or order the Ham Steak and Eggs and have a meal fit for a sailor!
The experience is like visiting a relative’s home, catching up on recent events, and having a great meal.
Day 2: Had to return for another breakfast! Was greeted like a regular! Carlos and the Saturday Morning Crew was busy serving breakfast. I had the Chorizo con Huevos, what a great meal and yes with a stack of corn tortillas and side of chilies- I ate it all! The Crew kept my coffee cup filled with that brewed gold!
Walking away I felt like leaving an old friend behind and will long for this place when I return...
Read moreIncredible service, after just walking in the door. Greeted by three behind the counter, and immediately brought menu and asked if I had any questions… As I always have lots of questions, they were very welcoming and continued to provide A+ customer service. Family-owned, this Little teeny weenie restaurant gave me wonderful service years ago. I was so excited that nothing had changed, including the delicious food. Unlike so many other breakfast places, they offer the most delicious tzatziki, so I ordered the Greek omelette. Like years ago, their tzatziki and Greek omelette were delicious. Dining here, you’ll not only experience a wonderfully warm, family like feeling but will also enjoy delicious and fresh made to order food. Don’t miss their green salsa which is hot...
