Local Kitchens — Restaurant in Redwood City

Decent food options here, but what rubbed me the wrong way is that this is a ghost kitchen and the way they set up their point-of-service terminal is that it defaults to leaving a 15% tip.

Keep in mind: I am inputting my own order, picking up my own order, and bussing my own tray. That said, for what reason is a 15% tip the default option? To the owner of Local Kitchens: please think through this and look at it from the standpoint of the customer and ask yourself does it make any sense at all?

I have no problems with tipping when there is a service provided, but businesses like this that are not providing a service and not only ask for a tip but set it as a default option are part of the problem as to why tipping in America has gotten out of hand.

All staff, including Elizabeth and Abraham, are beyond and above average. Professional and helpful. The Sandwich lunch combo special is a surprise to me.
