Pizza Plus - Mae Anne — Restaurant in Reno

I ate at the Prater location on July 5th at 6 PM.. They were a little busy so it was not unexpected that the order took a little longer.

Their staff is among the friendliest I've seen but they're disorganized and don't seem focused on bringing food out to the people actually eating there.

Our large order wasn't brought to the table by someone bringing trays one right after the other. There was at least a ten minute delay between trays. There were three of them. We actually had to go to the counter to inquire where the rest of our order was. They didn't even bring plates or napkins to the table. We even had to ask the front counter to bring ranch and sauce for the chicken wings.

Here's why I will NEVER be back. I've eaten several times at this location and don't remember the food being so bad The pizza was underwhelming with a limp and tasteless crust. The chicken fingers were disgusting. They had no flavor and even ranch dressing couldn't save them. The breading was mealy and had an odd texture. The kids ate two fingers out of an order of about ten. They didn't finish what they took and the adults wouldn't touch them. Don't EVER order appetizers like fried mushrooms. They were tasteless, mushy and greasy. No dipping sauce could save them. The fries were barely acceptable. They arrived like warm and had little salt.

Finally there were the chicken wings. The chickens must have been anorexic. They were the smallest I've ever seen with little meat on them.

Pizza Plus should be ashamed to serve food of such poor quality. They've cheaped out on their ingredients as well as the quality of their pizza, chicken fingers and wings. The latter made me want to ask for a refund. Half of the food was left on the table because it was flat out bad.

To add insult to injury, their food is on the costlier side. I recommend that customers stay away. You can find much better wings and pizza at other pizzerias for about the same price. Not only will the food be far superior it will likely be served more quickly by a staff that is organized and...

The short of it is they are incompetent and dishonest. I can't believe I actually have to use these words for a Google review but here I find myself having to do that, over a pizza delivery order.

I tried to order from them about a year ago for delivery, and was told over the phone that it would take about 45 min. Great. I live about a mile away, wanted to support a local pizza joint. About 1.5 hours later an no pizza, I called and was told that it was out for delivery. Another 30 min later I called back and canceled the order.

I thought I would try them again tonight. Ordered a pizza and some wings, paid by credit card over the phone. Again I was told 45 min for delivery. About an hour and twenty minutes later I called aksing about the status and I was told it's out for delivery. 30 minutes later I called back and canceled the order. Unreal!

I get that pizza places get busy and delivery times get effected, and I have zero issues with that. What I found to be totally lacking in common and basic service is accurately stating that it's busy.

Being honest is basic stuff. My first call back to check on the status of the Pizza and I was told that it was out for delivery. When I called back 30 minutes later, when I only live 5 minutes away, I was told I could come pick up the pizza instead. I asked where is the pizza is it out for delivery or is it still at the pizza shop? I couldn't get a straight answer. I then asked for my money back and was put on hold for at least 5 minutes before I was transferred to somebody else who did not care and said my credit card would be credited...

UPDATE November 3rd, 2021 The gal behind the counter acts like she is being forced to work. No customer service. Poor gal. Pizza and wings are cold. The salad bar is better, but all of the lettuce is wilting. Prices were increased to over $10 for pizza and salad with a soda. Also, they want to charge for any sauces. Um...I just dropped $10 on cold pizza. The other locations haven't charged me for a little cup of Nitro sauce. Get some music playing, put a smile one your faces. Don't act like it's a funeral.

Sorry Pizza Plus, but I can't give you a good review. Dismal salad bar, hard pizza and mediocre crust. I'm not sure I'll be back. We love our lunch pizza buffets, but I think I'll be paying the extra $ for Round Table. Go to Idaho Pizza Company in Boise, Idaho. Copy their pizza and salad bar. It's one of the best non-franchise pizza places. I would suggest expanding your salad bar and you'll bring in more people.

2 years later...same issues. Dismal salad bar, one kind of cold Pizza on the buffet. Fries were gone the entire time. Chicken nuggets old and stale. Now they limit you to one trip to the salad bar. Go to the one on Prater Way. Much better and a staff that wants you...
