Personally, I don't think the food is great for the prices they charge. Not bad, but just average. They have a pretty large selection of beers and different glasses depending on the beer style, but I'm not a beer aficionado so that doesn't really do anything for me. My daughter really likes one of the wing styles and orders it just about every time we go. The pizzas are decent as well.
When you order your food or drinks, they call your name and you pick it up yourself. No waiters/waitresses to bring your food or drinks to you. The staff try to be quick to clear tables to open up more seating. They have an area for kids to play, with blocks and ring toss type of things, as well as a TV playing kids shows. Seating can be an issue if a youth or adult baseball/softball/soccer/etc game just got over. But they have a 21 and over seating area as well, plus outdoor seating as well as more seating upstairs.
The place can get pretty loud depending on how full it is, so it would not be a good place for a romantic date or if you just want to have casual conversation. Lots of families and groups of people.
I understand that things are hard right now, especially for food establishments. We are all about helping local small business, but as a family of 4 we can't afford to pay these prices to grab some average food and drinks. It is a little excessive for me and my family, so we only go here maybe once every...
Read moreOrdered two pizzas and a sub at 1:30 for pickup at 4 on New Year’s Eve. At 1:30 the place was already decently busy for being 1:30, and with what looked like a full staff. Went to pick up our order at 4 with multiple people leaving looking pretty annoyed making calls (I am assuming because their plans had been abruptly cancelled by this place closing), we went in for them to tell us they are closing because “no one wanted to come in with the weather” the place isn’t open for breakfast, and the lunch crew were clearly all there at 1:30 and it was busy already earlier. I have worked in restaurants, and New Year’s Eve is one of, if not the busiest nights of the year, especially the bar! Then they tried telling us they “didn’t have the card on file so it wasn’t charged” and except it was, with tip, and it wasn’t until my husband said he was going to the car for the receipt showing payment that they magically found that we had paid and then refunded. If it was employees not wanting to stay because of the weather, if I was the owner I would have brought my entire family in to work then. This place won’t last more than a couple more years (max) if this is how they handle weather of the busiest night of the year. We went to multiple places to pick up pizza and wings after this and all places were very busy and...
Read moreI am so sorry! Schussboom Brewing is CORRECT! Somehow my review got put in for Schussboom when I meant it for Mammoth Brewing Company in Mammoth,CA. The only experience I have with Schussboom is their Propane filling station which is awesome and has one of the best prices per gallon in Reno.
This place is fine for beer. Well, that’s what they do isn’t it. Their outside seating is bare bones and not that inviting with DG/sand that is dusty. It could use some plants and better shade and perhaps some fans. The food is mediocre at best. The wait staff are friendly and helpful. I did appreciate the quick response of management to my review on their website as well as their explanation and offered compensation. I’m not a big fan of the lack of printed menus with the substitute QR codes but I suppose it does help solve the staffing problems that seem so widespread in the service industry . The burger was expensive and fries or other sides were all extra. The pizza/flatbread was not that good though the dog liked the chicken chunks. There must be other establishments with better food and atmosphere in town. Can’t comment on the beer as I’m not a...
