Strange experience at this place today. I dropped off my wife’s car at Acura to be serviced so I had some time to waste. Google maps showed this place had protein waffles so I decided to give it a try. As I walked in, the male employee looked directly at me but didn’t greet me, so I greeted him. I didn’t see the waffles on the menu, so I asked him if they serve food. He mentioned several drinks and then mentioned the waffle. I ordered the waffle and a cup of coffee, to which he replied in an agitated tone “we aren’t a Starbucks”. Strange reaction to say the least. I said that I didn’t think they were, but I figured they had coffee since they serve breakfast. He then explained that “since there are other places in the shopping center that serve coffee, he isn’t allowed to”. As I ate my waffle, I attempted to make small talk with him, which was met with one word answers, still in an agitated tone. Since he was overtly friendly toward several female customers as I was there, I can only surmise that he had some internal bias toward me (possibly had something to do with my camo hat, flannel, & cowboy boots?). I’m an understanding guy, but he clearly want just having a bad day since he was jovial toward the female customers. Again, I can only guess why he was so rude (the female employee was pleasant), but I’ll be avoiding this place in the future to go somewhere I’m more welcomed (a Starbucks perhaps lol). It’s a shame too because the waffle was good & I always try to support local businesses, but this one didn’t earn it. ———
Hi AJ. Thank you for the apology, it would have been better received had you ended it there. My goal in posting this was to hopefully make the owner aware of his/her employee’s demeanor…it makes it worse that you are the owner.
It’s expected that you’d try to minimize your behavior to try to offset a poor review. Ultimately, you know how our interaction went down and if you actually believe what you typed in your response, you should go back and review your video because your attention to detail and/or memory are lacking.
Your comment about providing me with a quality product instead of a “plain waffle” is laughable. Freudian slip perhaps? Since I ordered the strawberry/banana waffle I’d hope it would contain those ingredients.
“Now that I know you really do want to get to know us we would love to chat!” Another Freudian slip? I’ll refrain from pointing out some of your other non-sensical comments.
Hopefully by bringing this to your attention, you’ll be more careful to be welcoming to...
Read moreI didn't realize they closed at 3. So I pulled up and looked on Google for their hours. I kept receiving ads on Instagram about this place and I live across town. Well the owner caught me in my car and let me inside. Super nice super friendly guy, down to earth. It was my first time ever there and I appreciate him doing that I would've just went home. I had the special this month which was the Shamrock shake. DELICIOUS. I appreciate the healthy aspect and the vision they have for this place. I will come back and try more of their menu! The owner didn't have to let me in but I'm glad he did! The prices are super reasonable and the macros are friendly. Im glad they opened in Reno because we need more people like the owners and we need more of their stores...
Read moreWent in looking for something to eat based on Google, not knowing too much of the place beforehand. When I discovered they only sell shakes (from what I can tell, so far), and they've stated that it's water-based on meal supplements, I felt like I was going in for disappointment. However, I was immediately blown apart from expectations. Not only was the service phenomenal and welcoming in a completely natural, non-intrusive manner, the funfetti shake I've received was phenomenal, I was quickly full, AND for first time customers you get a coupon! I'm absolutely coming back in and recommending this place to my bodybuilder + casual workout buddies. While in my car enjoying the funfetti shake, I debated on going back in to order...
