Iâve always heard amazing things about Squeeze In, and it didnât disappoint. Squeeze In has several nearby locations in Reno, Sparks, and Truckee, and was featured on Food Networkâs âThrowdown with Bobby Flayâ. They also have a âlove it or itâs freeâ guarantee, which means itâs literally impossible not to go home without a smile on your face.
Starting any meal out with a mimosa is always a way to gain points with me. I was very excited to learn that by checking in on Foursquare for the first time, you earned a free glass of champagne or mimosa â score! I must say that my mimosa was about 1/3 juice and 2/3 champagne. I was not complaining.
Another amazing plus in my book (before I even get to the food) was the fact that they encourage you to write on the walls. I added a neat little drawing while I waited for my brunch, though I wish I could say I was the one with the âI love Unicornsâ drawing. I donât think anything will beat that.
Since Iâve been on a Mexican food kick, I ordered the Huevos Montana, which included eggs, avocado, salsa, refried beans, and lots of other goodies. It did not disappoint. The potatoes that accompanied my breakfast were crispy, but not overdone, and the breakfast had the perfect blend of Huevos Rancheros with a little variation of Squeeze In character.
Steve ordered the Shake and Bake (Hello Ricky Bobby!) with avocado, olives, jack cheese and sour cream, which he deemed to be a winner in his book. I almost forgot to add that we both upgraded our potatoes to âOtis Style,â where they add jack and cheddar cheese and grilled onions. The upgrade is worth it if youâre a spud lover and looking for an extra breakfast treat.
It was a good amount of food, but not too much (there was no post-brunch waddling, unless you count how I move after two mimosas). Iâm excited to go back and try some of the âriskierâ menu...

Read moreWe have been a Squeeze Inn fans for years, and have enjoyed some great breakfasts there. So writing a negative review is not my favorite thing to do. However, the last two meals we have had at the South Reno Squeeze Inn have not lived up to the standards we have experienced the past. Today's breakfast was a disaster. We saw our meals sitting meal under the warming lights for over 5 minutes as the server worked on a problem with the refrigerator. When we finally received it the scrambled eggs were like rubber. And my wife received her order missing the over easy eggs. Probably because they were siting under the same lights too long. They came out about 5 minutes after she received the rest of her order. If the place had been busy would have been more willing to excuse the issues. But, there were only three tables busy at the restaurant at the time. This is not the normal experience we've had over the years. The Squeeze Inn has always been our favorite breakfast location. We try to avoid the weekends because of the amount of traffic they get on those days. But to have this kind of a meal midweek was extremely disappointing to us. Hopefully you can tighten up the service so we can continue to enjoy what we have experienced...
