Fujiwara is an exceptional omakase experience. We had the later seating, which meant that the restaurant that Fujiwara is located in (New Zen) was closed, and only the 6 seats for omakase attendees were taken. It made for an intimate and personalized dinner. The chef and owner is quite personable and interactive, not only in describing each course (whether one of the 12 nigiri courses or additional small bites), but also in asking questions of the guests and getting folks to share with each other. There were only 6 ppl at a time, 2 rounds per night (5:30pm and 7:30pm). $160 pre-tax omakase with 2 appetizers (eel with soba, squid), 12 nigiri, crab chawanmushi and hojicha ice cream.
